Heres the question im trying to solve for myself:

Wagner or DO88 Mera?
I have a huge ass DO88 intercooler on my Rx7. It's a beautiful piece and works well at keeping my IATs in check even here in the Texas heat. Can't imagine you could go wrong with a DO88 manifold.

wouldnt hurt to add the wagner heat exchanger and their boost pipes tho too right?:
Exchanger doesn't really do much, also if it's much larger, it could be worse, as the OEM water pump won't be able to keep up with the volume.

what? its the same price, ish, as the wagner.
Do88 has two versions. The cheaper version is about $450 cheaper than the Wagner.

Either way, @Tsuki8 was referencing the price difference between the two versions of the Do88, I believe. Not comparing with the Wagner.

that makes more sense. the wagner can be had for 5-7% under its msrp depending on whoever is offering what sale, but its still a bit more then the do88. cheapest i see right now is $2290 with free shipping/no tax at fidanza

as long as its bled properly I cannot see too much of an issue with more volume needed for the wagner one. I have upgraded plenty of cars in the past with no issues after 20,000km of hard track days before moving the cars on or rebuilding but you have stirred my concern. I have been told most modern cars electrical pumps can move a fair bit more? Doesnt the stock system have plastic end tanks too? ( im not sure)

Not sure what you are asking or stating here. You know from actual experience on the platform or are you making a statement based on a totally different platform, system, and design?

0 experience on THIS platform but built a few race cars in the past and havent had a problem......I guess there always is a need for guinea pigs.

And what have been those race cars? Did they have electrical PWM water pumps and a low temp cooling circuit that pumps coolant through a heat exchanger in a cooling stack in front of the car and an air to water intercooler located in a intake manifold?

Water system head height is the main determinant for if an enlarged cooler would hurt the water pump or not. As long as the added cooler isn't literal feet above the old one, and the new cooler didn't have a pressure drop that was well outside expected norms then it would effectively reduce the coolant temp by whatever extra efficiency the core had over OEM.

This isn't an uncommon thing to do on other cars with the IC in the IM (C7Z, GT500, etc). A bigger cooler plus larger or more efficient IC is generally a good idea given the air temp going into the IM. That said, it would be hard to quantify what percentage of change you'd see without actual testing done. A larger cooler would stave off, or eventually negate heat soak of the system assuming the IC itself had enough flow.

Why don’t you two guys try it out and find out for yourself instead of just talking theory.
That's rich coming from you.

Or are unsubstantiated opinions okay - just so long as they're yours.
