Anyone else notice black dirt building up at certain areas way quicker than the rest of the car gets dirty? Almost like it's coming from the inside out...... One spot is the lower door corner, see arrow below. Today I had the hood up and noticed it also at the 2 points where the hood starts to arch over each front wheel. It was on the 'inside' but starting to wrap around to be visible from the exterior. I cleaned all 4 spots up somewhat but it will not come all the way clean. Might try lacquer thinner next. It almost looks like undercoating ??

I saw the same thing on mine in the spot you pointed an arrow to. Cleaned it up, don't think it's come back....yet.

Yep, same thing on mine. Some IPA wipes cleaned it up pretty well but it took some scrubbing, I think it’s some kind of coating they spray inside the hood that starts to leak out the vent holes and then run down the inside of the hood to those corners.

OK so at least I'm not crazy LOL

Someone told me the hood is aluminum (and SIX GRAND) so it wouldn't be for rust prevention........

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I feel like it's where the door drainage is at or something. Constantly dirty at that spot. Yet why is drainage so dirty, dunno.

+1 )

I've only had my car for 2 weeks and I noticed some black residue in the exact location after washing it for the first time. It seemed like it came from under the front edge of the door.

The hood is aluminum, but it's definitely not $6k. MSRP is $ 1,373.51. But yeah, I'm also a +1 to all those spots being dirty.

You may be referencing the factory rust proofing or cosmoline seeping out of the lower door bottom or hood edge weep holes. This is an orangish color.

I haven't had this issue, but I had a huge spillover stain on my passenger side fender where it meets the hood when my car was brand new. It was the washer fluid.. why they put so much washer fluid? I used a turkey baster to remove about 2" of fluid at the filler neck, no problem since.

You using a turkey baster is so incredibly on-brand for you.
My other option was a straw and drinking it.. it was tempting.

If it would taste anything like the blue margarita I had last week, highly recommend.

It's a corrosion inhibiter and it leaks out when it's hot... park it outside for a few 90 degree days, wipe away, and you shouldn't need to deal with it again.
