tried uploading a short video. Said it was too large. But this looks seated to me unless I’m wrong.

Can't really tell from this picture. The end of the coil spring, the part where it looks like the spring was snipped or cut off, should literally be flush with the "butt" end of the spring retainer (spring perch). They should butt up to each other.

There should have been a rubber insert that the bottom part of the coil assembly sits in, that's the specific part I am referring to.

I had this noise once with my HKS springs then never again.

Ahhh I see it, yeah it’s not seated all the way. It’s a bitch to get in.

Yea that could be your problem.
That’s exactly the problem. And I can’t get it to stay seated. When I get it in the grooves. I put the coupling back on top and place it in the hole, it pushes the spring out of the seat at the bottom every time. Not sure what my solution is.

I see you’re here in Dallas. I’m also here and have a Buddy, Juan, that works on these cars for fun/very little cost (he owns 2 Supras). He did my springs and has done many others. PM me if you want his deets, I’d trust him to be able to help you out.

Actually got it. We’re all good. Had to grab a beer and some tri tip to let my mechanic brain kick in and figure it out.
Thanks to everyone that pitched in to help.

Yes, this is the spring/perch alignment I was referring to.

Happy to get you headed in the right direction. Glad it's fixed!! Enjoy!
