? Happy Father’s Day from Redtiger!

Father’s old car often holds a lot of memories — maybe it wasn’t the newest or the most stylish, but it was part of many family moments.
Whether it was used for weekend trips, late-night drives, or just running errands, that car played a role in shaping those experiences. It’s a reminder of time spent together, the little adventures, and the simple moments.

What was your dad’s old car??

Do you have any photos of it you’d like to share? ?

Are there any stories or memories tied to that car that you’d like to tell? ?️

We’d love to hear from you — feel free to share in the comments below. ?

I’ll play.

My dad had Cadillacs. But when I became a teenager, he went to the Pontiac dealer and picked up a top of the line Smokey & the Bandit looking Firebird TransAm. I wish I had some pics. My mom was pissed so he didn’t keep it long. But it worked, I thought he was the coolest dad for quite a while after that.

Man, you guys were lucky. My dad only had station wagons like this Ford LTD.

Then my mom got a Honda Accord in the mid 80's with a 5-speed manual. That thing felt like a sports car by comparison.

When I was old enough to drive, I learned how to drive a stick in that Accord. That's when driving became fun.

99 Toyota Camry LE here. He switched to WFH back when I was in high school, so that became my first car back in high school. Fun times in that car, especially a snap of oversteer during a summer thunderstorm, felt so proud of myself catching that.

My dad went from a 1982 Toyota Truck (I think that was the model name lol) to a 1996 Dodge 3500 Dually for pulling his RV camper once retired. that little Toyota could've almost fit in the bed of that dually

Happy Father's Day!

Well...the "old" car was an MG TD that he had restored. He also drove a 450 SL. The family car was a special edition turbo Volvo station wagon with a factory sport tuned suspension, which was actually pretty fun to drive as a teenager. This was in the 80's.

That is super cool...the "king" of the reduced horsepower era.

I don't know, but the steering wheel didn't work because that motherfker never turned around after he left the house.

He said he'd be back in two weeks.

This is a picture I took of the original I still have in my drawer at home. One of many cars my dad and uncle had back in the day. Wish I had more pictures of them but this is the only one I have of them in really good condition. Can’t remember the exact years on these but the one on the right my uncle built himself when he was 15 and was a 65 fastback. My dad’s car was the green one and if I recall correctly it was a 67 fastback that he repainted and made to look like a boss mustang. The car on the left was also my uncles and was, I believe, a 66 gt350 (not a hertz)

Your mom is my ride
My dad had a plethora of cars, the more notable ones:
  • Plymouth Superbird (it got stolen, then retrieved but the wing was missing, then stolen again and never to be found)
  • Two MGBs, which he cut both in half and welded the two half’s together to make a complete car
  • 70s Toyota Celica
  • His last car before he became too disabled to drive was a Saturn SC2
All these cars were manual. My mom drove every single one. This is where I get my manual supremacy from.

My dad died last year. First Father’s Day without him. I miss him a lot. He taught me how to drift. How to double clutch a car without synchros. Drive a three on the tree. I would take him on touge runs and he would never even flinch as I pushed my skills to the limit. In a way he was my Bunta. RIP in peace pops.

Thanks for sharing your stories guys.
