Why are all the lips the same??

After coming from the Honda/Subaru world Im now waiting on a 24 manual 3.0. I’ve been putting together the obligatory wish list of mods in anticipation of its arrival and the lips on these cars have me confused. It seems like all of the lips and skirt extensions out there just stack on top of the black factory one that’s on there. They all follow the same basic lines, all end in the triangular fin and aside from a couple different angular and length differences, they look the same. Does anyone make something that’s different? Something cleaner that actually replaces the oem ones altogether?

For the most part, when you think of front lips, you think of extensions to the oem bumper. In the case of the Supra, the oem bumper contains a "lip" on it by factory that is integrated in the bumper design. This can be seen on the corners of the bumper where oem paint can be seen under the "lip".

I’m looking for something to replace that oem lip with a color matched piece without those points, something clean that closes off the bottom section of the bumper, then run a minimal carbon splitter below it. I guess I’d compare it to like an s2000 ap2 lip, something poly

Maxton is still just tacked on to stock and still retains the fins that OP wants gone.

I would certainly consider it. I think a body color matched lip without the fins to replace the black oem lip would really improve the lock of the front end, especially on a non black car. The black cars hide it better but the other colors, with the black lip leaves the bumper very open looking and unfinished

The fins recess into the bumper. Only one I see cover is the 3d design one.

Right, so this hypothetical, in my case absolute zero poly lip would fit into those recess points flush. This would allow the bottom section of the bumper which is now black, to match the rest of the car. The easy fix is to paint the oem lip but I think with the fins it would look very awkward

Yes, the 3D lip is really close to what I’m talking about, but in poly to it could be painted to the match the car

Edit: nvm, you’re referring to the lip above the APR splitter.

I think the biggest issue is what do you do with the horrible looking bumper when you pull said triangles off. The mounting points, holes, tabs are all under the triangle/lip. You would need to fill, sand, paint, BEFORE you even put a lip on. Now full bumper replacement is a different story but just replacing the stock lip with something other than the triangles on the side requires major work.
