What are you guys thoughts on this, I always thought the N55 and N55 successor B58 were built with great quality guess I was wrong. I hope Toyota addresses some of these details before production of the Supra
Thats not a B58, and I'm sure they have. This thing has been testing for like 2 years now lol.

Given the leaked power outputs are from current BMW notes, and assuming Toyota will fettle with the engine... Shirely it's going to have more than 350ps...

"Way less money" 300hp Cayman starts at $55k and 365hp Cayman starts at $67k. I'm guessing 'way less' is $10k but hoping its $20k.
the "67k" Cayman S includes hardly anything... plenty of things standard even on an average grocery getter aren't present, let alone some of the stuff on the SPX.

when you option one out to include those things, the car is instantly ~$75-80k.

Yeah... so the Supra will be about 60k. Makes sense, haha ;)

damn, now you have me thinking what everyone else, that its going to start in the low 50's or high 40's. Gotta admit, if it does, then I may be looking at a F-type. They really have to package this car well in performance & equipment at that price point for me to not look elsewhere.

Fully modified and tuned supra cracking 400Hp at 60k with 3000lbs.

i would shit bricks
I suppose Cayman GT4 owners said the same thing.

Weight: 3050 Lbs.
Power: 385 hp @ 7400 rpm
Torque: 309 lb-ft @ 4750 rpm

Except, a GRMN version being turbo, would maybe have 340-360 TQ.

People are getting 400HP out of the lawnmower engine in the 86 platform. IF a factory turbo 4 is offered with a manual I can see that being a popular option for modders. It should be lighter, and even with the cost of mods, cheaper than the turbo I6 models.

Where is everyone getting this 3000lb weight? I've seen 3284, which is close to what a MKIV hardtop weighed in at in 1993.

And if I'm not mistaken, it's the current Spec B (340hp) version that's lapping the ring the same as a GT4

The forum insiders (close to project) have mentioned in other threads that the 1400kg mass is wrong, and it is in the 1200kg region

I guess we are all guilty of high expectations for this car, including myself. I want to really LIKE this car, so yes there are few things I'm unhappy with, if you want to be completely happy its going to cost you. Everything hasn't been revealed, so I will stay optimistic.

At the very least we can all appreciate light weight, balance, RWD fun and 350-340 Horsepowaah!
