I don't understand how people justify the cost of PPF. Not to take away from it's useful as a product as it's certainly a phenomenal thing to have, but nearly $6k to wrap an entire car seems insane to me considering it can be done by two people in two 8hr days at most. What am I missing?

Convenience factor.
Do it yourself, buy some tools, buy wrong things, mess it up a few times, burn the house down, no time, no talent, no patience.
vs pay to get it done in few days.

I guess....I've done PPF on my own, frustrating, but after saving me several thousand dollars I'd say worth.

That seems high. Buts its mostly a labor cost. So it kinda depends on your local area. I paid $1700 for Xpel on the front bumper, hood, mirror and front quarter fenders.

It's easier. 10000% pay someone else to do it for me.

That’s very reasonable and similar to what I paid. The front bumper alone takes many hours. The shop that did mine had to do the front bumper twice because of difficulty.

Lol...I hear ya, but paying someone $15 to make a burger that would cost me $5 at home is a lot different than paying someone $6k for something that cost $500 in materials.

Yes, I hear ya. 100%. The stress and annoyance is definitely worth the 5500 extra for me. Also, I really hate sticky things. I can barely get plastic wrap on the left overs.

thats what I got quoted, so I opted just for hood/front and quarts coating or whatever turned out $1700, I barely drive the car though so I should be fine

I requested a quote from a guy here in San Diego, just to get an idea for future purchase. He quoted $6750 for full custom wrap. He is an installer I found on the Xpel website. That’s with a 10 year warranty
