I have an unrelated question. Does the PPF on the hood cover the entire hood?
Not the one from the factory.

About a quarter inch of the hood is actually exposed on the side and bottom edges. I suppose it is better than nothing. I had it removed and covered the full front (full hood, bumper, and fenders). My installer wrapped the film around all the edges.

21 Premium with Driver Assist - $52,501 but that is before Virginia taxes and $895 (I think) dealer processing fee, so call it $53,400 before taxes. Picked it up last month.

Curious to know what are you guys thought on Toyota's Protection Plan and other add ons.
I bought my Tundra many years ago (first time buying a car) which I decided to get the tire/wheel protection and the windshield protection.

This time around I planning to skip all of it together.

Windshield should come with your car insurance. The rest is just a money grab. If you reach the end of the factory warranty, and you decide to keep the car longer, it's early enough to buy an extended warranty plan.

This was my thinking too. I declined all the rustproofing and warranty add-on stuff at the point of sale. To my dealer’s credit, they did not try the hard sell on me. Maybe I looked like I wasn’t in the mood!:D

Funny enough I was looking at my Tundra purchase back in 2014. Man I was sure dumb to let them convince me to buy the add ons (windshield, tire/wheel protection, mechanical breakdown). Sure I only used the tire and wheel protection once but honestly i rather save all that money and bought me some better wheels and a nice lift. Grant it at the time of purchase I was hungry and exhausted from work. Never making the mistake again lol

First post here. Just agreed to 52.7 otd on a '21 3.0 premium with only trunk mat added, but we haven't ironed out a trade in value, so nothing's in stone yet. They said it'll take a couple months to get it since it must be ordered, and there's a really good chance there'll be additional rebates by then.

Insurance is regulated by State so not the same in all States. I think some States have mandatory windshield coverage without a deductible? States like IL don't have that. Comprehensive or collision would cover the windshield depending on how it was damaged. And the insured would have to pay what ever deductible there is.

Dealers usually make the most profit in the business office selling back-end products like insurance and warranties. They entice buyers into adding on retail priced products into loans with interest. That ends up costing buyer even more.

The best extended warranties are factory backed. Warranties are usually insurance policies which are regulated by State. Usually it's possible to buy a factory backed extended warranty just before the regular bumper to bumper or power train expires. There are dealers who sell heavily discounted "Toyota" warranties online for a discount. There are a a few exceptions. I am not totally sure but I believe FL is one State where buying a discounted warranty is difficult? FL has really bad consumer laws. FL also has some of the highest DOC fees in the nation. Overall it's not a advantageous State to buy cars.

It's rare but it might make sense in some instances to buy a pre-paid service plan. As long as there are no other add-on services built into what they are selling. Services other then the minimum required by Toyota for maintaining warranty. Instances where someone is getting 0% and the plan is discounted to actual cost. Why? They average out the cost of service nationally. Oil change prices can very. It might make sense to buy the plan if someone lives in a area like NY, Chicago, LA where labor rates at dealers are higher then the national average. In those areas the cost of the service plan might make sense if the package is discounted enough. Plus at 0% there is no cost and some protection for inflation.

Of course anyone modding a car should just pass on any extended warranties. lol.

$50k and some change after taxes. Trade brought the otd price to $32k. 2020 3.0 Premium with DAP. Had to drive 4+ hours to get that deal.
