I like how it looks through and through. Reminds me of a dodge viper.

I like just about everything about the car, the fact that it's part BMW, it's power, it's weight, the zf automatic, Toyota's history of reliability, bmw interior, i6 engine, the fact that it's being built in the same factory as the g-wagon, beautiful coupe body.

To me, it's the pinnacle of gas powered cars. Any future car I get will be electric or hybrid. Just hope it doesn't cross 60k.

Thanks for the comments, but we know A70 has an inside pipeline to info on this car, and I trust what he says...once again it sounds like, in some configuration 0-60 is going to be quick....
Well considering that the m240i does it in 4.2 with the BMW i6 and several hundred more lbs, it's plausible.

I wonder what a Cayman weighing 250lbs less with a ZF8 would do?

https://www.google.com/amp/www.moto...cayman-s-2nd-place-2017-best-drivers-car/amp/
LOL, is that a hint? Because....

Cayman 718:
Wheelbase 97.4 in
Length 172.4 in
Width 70.9 in
Height 51 in
Curb weight 2,988lb Manual 3,054lbs PDK
Engine:350 hp / 309 lb-ft
Transmission: 7 speed auto / 6 speed manual
Tires: 235/40/19 front, 265/40/19 rear

Supra:
Wheelbase 2,470 mm (97.2 in)
Length 4380 mm (172.4 in)
Width 1855 mm (73 in)
Height 1,290 mm (50.8 in)
Curb weight 1,496 kg (3,284 lb)
Engine: 3.0L turbo inline-six with 335 hp and 332 lb-ft, plus 37 lb-ft overboot.
Transmission: 8 speed auto transmission.
Tires: 225/50/17 front, 255/45/17 rear

Assuming the supra 18inch wheels will come in at 235/40/18 F 265/40/18 R, which has been confirmed via spy shots/videos. Couple that with the fact that Toyota marketing is trolling us with weight. Which is confirmed to be lighter then posted here. Comparing the suggested dimensions, they're almost identical, we got ourselves a 45-55k Cayman..connecting the dots!

Thank you! I was about to say the same thing. The M240i is virtually as quick as the M2, and if the supra is getting the same engine, with slightly different gearing and a 2-300lb lighter weight than the BMW, 3.8 seconds is more than plausible.

meh, probably fake otherwise the weight is quite disappointing. Doesn't really weigh less than a manual C7, has a much shorter wheelbase than one and power to weight even with the supposed 385 HP 6 cyl is down by a good amount....and I just saw that it also says 0-100 km = 3.8 secs, not sure how that math works especially with only 340 HP that the magazine reports..
If it has the same engine as the BMW M240i, the math works. The 240i does 0-100 in about 4.2 secs, with 2-300lbs more weight. So, 3.8 with slightly different gearing is plausible. Also, BMW is known for underestimating the bhp of their engines significantly. The M2 engine, for example, listed at 365 bhp, has been measured to put out closer to 400 bhp. The same is likely true for this engine, i.e., it is probably closer to 365 -375 bhp, in reality.

Camaro SS, Mustang GT 0-60 3.9s. 5-60 4.3s ish, $37K-$39K
M240i 0-60 4.2s, 5-60 5.2s, $45K (turbo so 5-60 takes a hit)
C7 auto 0-60 3.7s, 5-60 3.9s. $58K
718 PDK 0-60 3.9s, 5-60 5.1s, $59K
718 S PDK 0-60 3.6s, 5-60 4.3s, $72K (no idea how 718 S 5-60 is this fast from a turbo 4)

if Supra is 0-60 3.8s, 5-60 4.8s, $50K then it's in good shape. if it's approaching $60k it'll no longer be competitive.

gearing isn't enough, it would still need several hundred pounds taken off the speculated weight from the magazine...nearly 3,300 pounds for a smaller 2 seater coupe isn't a good look..

Cayman 718:

"The Cayman’s boosted four is more than enough to get 3,190 pounds hustling. Zero to 60 mph happens in 3.6 seconds, and the quarter mile passes in 12 seconds flat at 114.9 mph."

If the tested car was a typical review loaner it was loaded to the gills with nearly every option Porsche offers, probably adding well over 100 lbs of extra weight.

that's missing the point...

their review car did 0-60 in 3.6secs at 3190 pounds.

my previous comment was directed at the specs in the article, not the ones posted by the other user.
