hmmm, LS's twin turbo 3.5 with 415/442 would be sweet.... and hard to know if Lexus would share engines with Toyota... to keep costs down that would be a reason to share....
Is there even a possibility of Toyota using this engine or a revised version of this engine?

oh look, someone with a balanced outlook based on all factors... what a novel concept :)
While I see @ginsuown point, one needs to take power, weight, balance, reliability, and everything into the equation. But there is no way Toyata can charge $67k for a car with the same performance as a Cayman S.

Remember, many people would rather pay $100k for a 370hp 911 than pay $60k for 450hp vette.

People will not pay Porsche prices for a Toyota. There is a reason the 370z starts $25,000 cheaper than a base cayman, despite the 370 having 30 more hp. Yes, the 370 is 400lbs heavier and not the same quality, but a lot of the reason for the cayman being more expensive is that it’s a Porsche.

I have a feeling I’m going to cringe when we see the MSRP on these cars.

who said the car is gonna cost Porsche prices? o_O

well, unless the Cayman S magically comes down in price by about $12-15k. And again, the Cayman at that 67k level is about as bare bones as it gets...

in fact, let's take that 67k and add the stuff that comes standard on everything else:

-Self adjusting LED headlights
-2 way adjustable seats (full leather)
-PDK (closest to auto)
-Adaptive cruise control
-Lane assist
-Auto dimming mirrors
-Dual zone climate

= $78,750

and there's TONS of other stuff that can be added...

Will all those things come standard on Supra?

Obviously not PDK, or a manual. Still praying that all the intel is wrong on that one and Toyota decides not to cheap out.

He can't tell you that. He's dropping hints. Pick them up. :p

$55k for 340 HP? Even at 2900 lbs, sorry man. Great balance or not, even though I can afford it, that is just not going to get it done for me.

Hopefully 55k is the GRMN price and hopefully the GRMN version is putting out higher HP and overall a generous track like package to justify that price.

Otherwise the standard version (340HP) needs to be in the 40's for me to buy it. All speculatively speaking of course.

I think people forget the original RZ JZA80 wasn't a cheap car when it first came out.
yeah, up to 80k in today's money adjusted for inflation... sure, there are differences to be sure, but that's a lot more money than this.

No worries here mate lol, that's what the Jaguar F Type, M2 and Vette are for.
there's something out there for everyone. I personally am unlikely to buy the new Supra based on several factors, and if I do it will be a GR trim (after I dump 1-2 of my other cars).
