Hmm What AM I driving?
I think most of the actual Supraforums guys already hate this car, so this forum probably will be the spot. Most OGs just want a Toyota Hellcat, which is fine, but they'll never get it. :dunno:
DON"T YOU DESTROY MY DREAMS I STILL WANT A 600 HP -700 HP LEXUS LCF DAMMIT! (Doesn't matter if I can't afford it lol)

jest asides, I feel ya, I'm sure we'll get a army of new people when new infor is released. and the usual

oh hi this is my first car, Daddy said I can have something up to 80K is this a good car for me? etc.

Yea most of the guys over at Supraforums feel this will be a big fail, and I get some of their points. The cars the Supra was competing with back then had similar HP to the MKIV at the time. And those same cars do have more power now. Everyone wants to compare this new car to what the old supra COULD become, not what it was from the factory, but I believe there are 2 ways to skin a cat and this car will not disappoint. Even if they have changed the recipe slightly from the last version of the Supra. I am stoked as hell to have something new coming out. I can guarantee you this car will be more engaging in every way than an MKIV supra. The only thing I fear that it may lack is some driver connection if they do not put the manual in it.

Personally I love the design, if it has the 380 HP (generally underrated by BMW) engine, and is approx. 3000 LBS, how can that be a fail?

Agreed. I wanted something to compete against the C7Z06, Gen 5 Viper, GTR, and 911 Turbo. That's not going to happen. If this is a true drivers car, lightweight (light, light!) and easily modded to 450whp or so, it will be a lot of fun to drive. Think of it as a modern RX7, but without the Rotary lol.

if this is the case things will get interesting once the RX-9 comes out in a year or 2 especially if it follows the same recipe but has more power from the factory. And based on their last concept this will come with a manual :headbang:

Mazda are nuts and if they come out with an RX9 costing 90k, but is a freaking missile with incredible handling, that would be something to take note of.

Athtat price point, compete with Lexus and the LC

I personaly can't see why some of us want the Supra to be an unaffordable supercar that competes with 911s and GT-Rs. Are you guys all that rich? I mean I'd much rather see something in the bmw 240i range that is purely sports oriented AND affordable as a 3 year old second hand car for most people..... I wanna own and drive the thing not just fantasise and jerk off about it haha... no??

$80-100 K cars are not unattainable especially if we're talking about 2nd or 3rd owner....anyone who has a decent job and isn't in debt could reasonably manage to pay one off. Personally I wanted the Supra to be competing with the GTR & NSX as I thought that would mean next gen advancements, like a performance hybrid, would come along but if the package is good at a lower price I can't complain..

They are, but there need to be enough 1st owners to make it successful. Toyota doesn't build a car based on the second hand market. I would love to see a GTR killer too but then I couldn't afford it.

On the otherhand...a 3000LB car with 350-380 HP that can easily be tuned to 500HP as shown on the B58. That sounds like more than enough for me personally.

Yeah I see your point, I think anything under 80k would make sens. I just personally don't see myself having car payments as big as my mortgage. Lolll

that's hilarious because I also feel it's essentially a new FD with another 100hp lol

I've used that analogy before too.

I'm hoping for something with performance somewhere in the M240i to M2 range with lighter weight.

Thinking I probably won't be disappointed, pending price and options available.
