I know many have added ports to their subs to enhance the over all sound...

But if one elects not to do so... what’s the best setting(s) for the audio tones or equalizer? Prefer R&B but not with too much bass (becomes overpowering).

I have also turned off the audio interior engine noise.

I know the Supra has like 500 watts but it doesn’t sound that great with the factory flat line settings.

Thanks for any input.

You pretty much want to form a u shape from bass to treble...

Then adjust the hz in each range in very small increments until the music sounds good to your ear..

I personally like more bass and mids and less treble...

Sounds like you're referring to the thread below. I start out with the same equalizer settings and adjust slightly - gets you 90% of the way there.

I got the EQ to where it sounds pretty good in low volume.. low volume is okay as I like hearing the car while driving. But some tracks the program itself has heavy bass and the sub(?) clips. Wish there was a quick and easy way to swap the driver units.

Some people swear by Bavsound and for the money it doesn't seem like a bad option.

Have you tried the Tadda fix that was linked above your post? Even just removing that small panel made a huge difference for me.

I have not.. I looked at it and saw a very complicated novel of instruction and thought perhaps I don't understand what he actually did.. Is there like a For Dummy's version?

There's this narrow panel on the back of the sub-box that you can remove and punch some speaker ports into that allows the air to escape from the box when the subs are firing, as well as sticking some foam inside the box. It helps a lot with the muddiness and clipping at higher volumes.

There's a bunch of other stuff in there that further reduces rattles and other unwanted noise, but the ports and foam will probably have the biggest effect on the sound quality coming from the subs. Try taking the panel off (it's held in with only one retainer clip) and see if you notice a difference at all.

Also, code out the fake engine noise with Bimmercode if you haven't already. Apparently that also makes a huge difference.

How to Setup and Optimize Sound Quality using OE Equalizer

However, I would encourage you do do this simple upgrade below first because simply adjusting the EQ settings alone will not fix the real problem with the sound system...

It's actually quite easy and not at all complicated if you have the patience to read through the instructions in which I went into great detail to do to make it easy for others to follow...

It really is so easy. I’m near useless as a do-it-yourselfer and I had zero problems. It’s so easy even a biologist can do it - that’s saying something.
