Is there a way that the digital speedometer could be set to go through every single number. When accelerating quickly the speedometer tends to jump past a few numbers, (50…53…56). Please and thank you

I mean, probably shouldn't be looking at the speedometer when you're accelerating that fast anyway. In any event, I've never been in any high performance vehicle with a digital speedometer that can keep up with every number; jumping 3mph is pretty much the norm

What is it that you truly desire ? Do you want to log things or something?
Connect thru ODB2, see if that helps.

Not to high jack this thread but does any one else notice their speed reads about 2-3 mph fast? I've noticed this passing those speed trap signs. On two different signs my speedo will say 40mph but the sign will say 37mph.

I've had other cars where it differed by about 1 mph but 3 seems excessive

There is a "show my true speed" type fix on BimmerCode.. it's somewhere in the forums.

Sweet, good to know. This will probably motivate me to actually mess with Bimmercode. I keep putting off getting it.

Would suck for the OP if the speedo went down to the one hundredths. Imagine him then..

I was reading somewhere that this is due to some rule in Germany where display speed has to be a bit higher than actual speed?

For removing it, Bimmercode is the way to go.

Yeah I ended up coming across another thread after this one. Seems like a norm for BMWs. Probably going to order the OBD plug tonight. Although part of me wants to keep the speed like that to avoid tickets ?

German car manufacturers can be fined if the actual speed
is higher than what is shown on the speedo. Hence, all german cars err on the side of higher than actual by abt 2mph. My 997 was 3mph and all my former
BMW's were abt 2mph higher than actual.

I would also love to be able to see every MPH as I'm driving as well. Basically OP is wanting a higher polling rate for the speedometer. Dodge/Jeep/FIAT does a really good job with this. The refresh and polling rate on the speedometer is super quick. The Supra seems like it's polling the speed at 2hz or two checks per second.
