So a buddy of mine said to change the oil myself and purchase the black stone oil kit. The kit is $40 and the oil analysis is free. He said this is a great way to know if your engine is burning oil or if thereās any other issues in regards to the oil. I think this is a great tool as well to pretty much diagnose what your engine and oil looks like, almost like when you go get blood work done at the doctors office. Lol hopefully this helps others out as well if you guys didnāt know about it. Thanks for all the replies and advice guys, I appreciate it!So there was a shop I believe European Road & Race who did a tear down of a 3 series engine that had done the factory oil changes to the tee at the dealer and after about 75k the motor ran fine, but had collected sludge in quite a few places. Also keep in mind these turbos use the same oil from the pan as the engine. So IMO 10k mile oil changes is asking for stuff to blow up or at the very least not run optimally. I would say 5k at the most and will be changing every 3k, but that's just me.
