Sell?!

Do I wait to see if my neck injury improves or take advantage of the market?

Been having some health issues with my neck and shoulder and have been very much on the fence about selling my Supra.

Is the used market this crazy?!

As much as I love the car, getting in and out is becoming more and more of an issue. I’ve had it 7 months and only have put 3,700 miles on it. ?

I did the same with my bike about a month ago. Just was not putting a lot of miles on it and the market for used bikes were hot as well so I sold it.

But health first, second reason why I got rid of the bike was cause of the old lady ?

That offer seems pretty good, if not a little low. If you're considering it and it's painful or dangerous to drive-- I'd dump it.
You think that’s low? I was just curious what trade in value would be, that’s why I went by CarMax.

I told myself, if I got $55k I’d have a much harder time keeping it.

The health issues have only crept up the last 1-2 months, prior to that working a lot and only have a weekend day here and there were reasons why I haven’t driven it much.

Couple local dealers including the one I bought it from offered me $52,500 and $53,000 to sell it to them.

I really love the car, and it’s not hurting me financially for it to sit in the garage, but I just don’t get to drive it much and here lately haven’t been really able to comfortably get in and out of it. I’m 6’2” and ingress and egress are a PITA even when I wasn’t having next flexibility issues.

I see cars posted for sale on here that sit for weeks, and cars on BAT and Cars & Bids that sell for $47-50k ??‍♂

Take the money. I’m looking at over $18k in repairs now that I hit 30k miles. Pcv, manifold, turbo, not to mention serious scoring.
I’m tuned so Toyota laughed in my face.
Yikes. What was the cause?

Which model year and what were the oil change intervals?

He posted in another thread was doing 5k miles and had an AA catted DP with 93 tune. I'm really curious to know more about his use case and what others with similar miles have to say. Several say these motors are very strong so I'm surprised to hear otherwise.

Shop around for the trade in, when I traded in my FRS Car Max was middle of pricing, Carvana offered me the most, webuyanycar was the lowest. But then a dealer from webuyanycar offered to beat Carvanna by 500 a day before I was set to drop off at Carvana... so all in all I think I got a little over 2k more than CarMax was offering. They'll make up their money on financing and extras.

How did you come to that conclusion? Have you done oil samples?
Samples and tearing down the engine. The oil is meant for emissions standards not the longevity of the engine. I had a senior Toyota mechanic (20+ years) tell me that the Supra is meant only to make it through warranty, then have serious issues: solenoids, valve cover gasket failure, etc. He named at least 6 major problems he sees evidence of in their initial phases for the model in general. MY2021 is the same, he believes.

So you're saying based on that 5w30 is the answer? Can you post oil sample and tear down photos?
