Without a doubt, that's an excellent first car!

I pretty strongly disagree with that. My first dozen or so cars were all shitboxes that I needed to get running, or keep running, on my own. You could ding things, get to know cars, get to know feels, sizes, weights.. What it's like to have a reasonable amount of HP, learn the ins and outs of driving, etc.

I'd argue that a first car with > 200hp is a pretty bad first car, especially with a turbo, and ESPECIALLY with RWD only. But what do I know.

Nah, I don't think so. Most of the cars posted with the exception of #42 look like they're around $10k or less at the time of purchase. Doesn't seem that unreasonable to me. Back when I was in high school we had rich kids rolling around in new $20k-$30k cars.

That's pretty unreasonable to me. My son is 16 now, and he gets a couple grand for a first car, just like all the other parents I know. $10k for a first car is pretty insanity.

That said, I meant they were lying in the age thread. I forget what my point was.

Ain't no damn way when I was a kid I was driving a 10k car...like my mom use to say..."you think money grows on trees"...
Until the time I joined the Marine corps all my cars were $500 beaters...

Well it all depends my rx7 cost me 1k and didn't run at all. So it end up being my project daily build. Of course, the prev owner didn't know anything about cars, the only issue the car had was a pretty low fuel pressure. So getting the proper fuel pump and regulator had it running for years.
