Drive it in normal mode for a while, then put her in sport, paddles and let her rip, drive it how you are gonna drive it and make sure it works for you, definitely agree go alone, totally different experience, connect your phone, play your music, you have to be able to see yourself doing what you do on a day to day basis in that car and make sure it makes you happy. Then buy the SOB and join the CLUB
Agreed. Never drove a car with paddles.

I guess the norm is different between US and where I am, Sweden.
Here it is no problem whatsoever to get a test drive of the car you are interested in.

In fact, I think no one here would ever buy a car they have not been allowed to test drive solo or with the family, especially this type of car.

When I asked the dealer to test the Supra the answer was:
Sure, here is the key don´t wreck it and be back before we close in 3 hours.

When I bought my Toyota Auris 4 years ago, I had a car over the weekend to drive the family around to see if they liked it.
Sounds like things are different on your side of the pond?

I had no problem getting to test drive a Supra before purchasing. I was the first to drive that vehicle and it is the car I bought. I was allowed to drive it unencumbered by the sales-person.

I don't know where I was going with my point but low risk.

It took me longer than I care to admit but I finally get the connection between a sea lion and water doctor.

I bought my Supra sight unseen via the internet. No test drive needed, when you know…you know.

I’ve never bought a car without a test drive. I’m mostly gonna test drive it to see what you all have been talking about, and to see if it would work for me as a daily driver. I’m still pretty sure I’m gonna buy the GR86 because it will be more affordable.

I did all the pricing negotiation over the internet and phone and dropped by to test drive the car (I always drive the car even if it's just around the block to verify) and drove her home. Sales guy said I can take her for a test drive solo* or he can tag along to go over the car with me to speed things up. I went with the latter and it was a quick purchase.

*I'm on the correct side of the pond too..! :patriot::dunno: and I let my lawn care contractor rake (leaf blower) my leaves.

Totally up to the dealership. I went on a test drive with a sales person at my local Toyota dealership. While the second dealership I visited let me test drive solo. I ended up buying from the second dealership. ?

I would just tell the salesman what you told us. You want a quiet drive as if you were alone. Any good salesman should oblige.

Another reason is if you are concerned over the virus, and want to minimize contact and test drive alone.

Either way, I hope you like the car! Hope you get the deal you want! Even though I got a 3.0 I still think that 2.0 is pretty awesome!
