APEX SM-10 Finish Survey

35017538212_8c5daeb940_b.jpg

With the recent launch of our SM-10 wheels in both Anthracite and Satin Bronze finishes, we've seen great feedback from the forums and the Supra community about our Flow Formed SM-10 wheels. It's been great to see photos of customers running these wheels both on the street and on track and we're glad to see that the wheels are proving to be popular.

Survey Complete! Satin Black was the winner and will be included in future production in both 18" and 19" diameters.

Bump for that satin black fever.

Satin Black is currently in the lead with nearly 90% of the votes! Thanks for the feedback thus far.

*Slaps your hand and votes for silver*.

Although brushed clear would be my first choice.
We don't currently have a way to do brushed finishes with our flow-formed wheels. If we did, it would definitely be on the short list!

Yup... I'd love a set of the 18's in satin black... would be an insta-sale for me. Seems you're low on the bronze which was my second choice (I know, I know... I missed out on the group buy) :(

We have more Bronze inbound but are still planning out the next production cycle which is where we will incorporate the additional finish. Thanks for the feedback!

I am loving my bronze sm-10s but black would be my second choice if I end up getting another set.

Bronze is my favorite, followed by silver. I’m over black wheels, but looks like I’m in the minority.

I’ll be glad when y’all get more bronze in, too. I bought a set of ARC-8s for my SS 1LE and love the wheels. Need to get some new Apex shoes on my Supra now!

Thanks for the reminder! Satin Black was the clear winner here (Sorry my silver guys...) and will be included in our next production run. A good mix of demand for different diameters and configurations so it will be available in 18s and 19s. Arrival for these and more 18x10 Bronze wheels is looking like January from what I understand currently. I will provide updated ETAs as they make their way through production.

Depending on how they sell and feedback from the community, we may add other finishes in the future. Silver seems like the logical choice but let us know if there's a wildcard option that we haven't encountered yet!

Production Update:
I wanted to update those of you who were interested in Satin Black SM-10s on timelines. We've begun production on Satin Black across all sizes. I've also requested additional 18x10 ET30 wheels relative to the other sizes since those are commonly run square as well as staggered with the 18x11 rears. The wheels should be shipped to us in January with an out the door from our warehouse date in February based on our current timelines.

Production delayed on Satin Black/18" bronze units because of an ordering /MOQ setback. New Eta April

We are also getting more Bronze SM-10s in stock for the few SKUs that are currently out of stock. 19x11 ET40 bronze should be arriving towards the end of this month with 18x10 ET30 bronze arriving about a month later.

Let me know if you have any questions about these wheels!

Not good news for Satin Black, but this question came up on our sale thread and I wanted to duplicate it here for those waiting. TLDR: The ETA on Satin Black units and 18x10s keeps getting pushed back, but we are working on getting them here ASAP.

Thanks,

What in utter tarnation is going on with the Satin Black 19" SM10s? I know I'm not the only one with my finger on the trigger here...

Not being rude at all, but considering you offer that finish on other wheels, what's been the holdup? Obviously, one answer is to just order silver and have them powdercoated, but we'd rather not have the extra expense if we can help it.

It's a completely valid question and it's actually not a finish/paint issue, but a production issue. The 18x10 ET30 Supra SM-10s have also been out of stock for a while in all finishes for the same reason.

So far we've only produced one run of the Supra SM-10 wheels total in the original Anthracite and Satin Bronze 18" and 19" wheels. That run has been brought over in multiple shipments as needed. I requested additional production of the same anthracite and bronze finishes (mainly 18x10 ET30 fronts/square) and the additional new Satin Black units last year, but new SM-10 and some other flow formed wheel production in general has been put on hold and repeatedly pushed back.

Production was delayed because we couldn't secure enough containers and warehouse space to bring over all of the units we had already produced for other markets through the end of last year and into this year. Its a broader problem that has been affecting various BMW, porsche, and domestic SKUs, but its particularly painful on the Supra SM-10 side where the Satin Black finish and those 18x10s are completely dependent on new SM-10 production.

The container situation has improved and my production team has resolved most of the inventory issues. They think that we should be able to get the actual run started soon, but I want to wait until I know the wheels are actually being worked on to provide an ETA.

Apologies for the delay again. Its not been fun seeing pent up demand that I can't address but I'm sure it's far more frustrating on the customer's end. Hopefully this makes more sense now because you're right that a new color that we already produce isn't particularly difficult to replicate.
