BMW is being forced to stop production of BMW and Mini cars in its German and other European plants after Russia's invasion of the Ukraine halted deliveries of key components from suppliers in Ukraine. Although the article doesn't specifically mention this, I assume this impacts Supra production as well because production at BMW's engine plant in Steyr, Austria, will also be suspended.

I think Magna Steyr has already been contracted to produced XXX amount of cars. When production is delayed it might just pushed back the SOP date. Let's just say this last for 4 months. If the end of production was originally scheduled for March of 2026 it might be extended to July in order to fulfill the all the units that was agreed upon.

Yup, I agree. This situation would just mean increased production delays, not necessarily less production numbers overall.

Possibly, but that would push back other companies that use them to build their new products.

Maybe there is a clause in the contract that says "in case of war, acts of God, etc...we are not liable for output"

Who knows.
