Are we sure the Supra isn't getting the TT V6 from Lexus?

SZ-R = Turbo I6
RZ = TT V6

I guess it goes against most of the rumors but it would explain the weight difference. I mean Nissan went V6 everything in the past decade. And even though most would dislike a V6 Supra, 415HP and 440TQ (from 1600 to 4800 RPM!) in a 3350lbs car would be insane from factory. Not to mention it has all forged internals meaning a couple 100hp from a little more boost isn't that far fetched.
All I can say is you have a lot of reading to do. Also try thinking a little more logically about the Toyota BMW partnership.

I read all 64 pages. Granted it took me a week or two so I might have forgotten something but I don't see why Toyota can't use a Toyota engine in a Toyota car. The chassis and the Inline 6 was co-developed with BMW, fine. But this 4 cyl engine is coming from where? if it is also from BMW or co-developed as well then sure, a pure Toyota engine might be out of question. But if it's from the IS200t or other Toyota/Lexus 4 cyl engine why not do the V6 in the top trim as well?

Yes, Tada san has said time and time that the Supra will retain a straight six. It's even official in the press release that just came out.

New Toyota Supra will be faithful to its heritage with an in-line, front-mounted six-cylinder engine and rear-wheel drive
But this 4 cyl engine is coming from where?
BMW's B48.

That is a bit contradictory though, right?

"the Supra will retain a straight six" but still receives a 4 cyl...

I know the chances of it getting a TT V6 is slim to none but...

4 cylinder is still unconfirmed

straight 6 is confirmed

zero change of a V6, configuration wrong, would need to be finalised at a very very early stage of vehicle development. Maybe for the A100 Supra

A100? I doubt any of us will live that long.

Why wouldn't it come in the next 10 years? I doubt Toyota would abandon the Supra again after just one generation...I would be highly surprised if they do considering how much they have been talking about having 3 sports cars in their lineup and maintaining a presence in motorsports.

I’d like to believe they won’t abandon it but.. I extremely doubt this car even getting a refresh. Everything depends on the success of this initial version.

At 335hp and 60k price tag it’ll find the fanboy sales initially and a year later they’ll start celebrating birthday days at dealer lots shortly after. If they diversify the car and cater to more folks such as.. a stripped down version with most powerful motor , manual in stripped and loaded versions, maybe a Targa .. youll see this car succeed. But one model with different power levels and one trans will limit the audience.
