Maybe drive both if possible? I’ve never experienced a 2.0 but the 3.0 is definitely fast. If you don’t care for the power, go for the 2.0. At the end of the day, if you want aesthetics, you can mod any Supra to look amazing

Depends on your means. If $43k keeps you comfortable, but $53-58k doesn't, go for the 2.0.
If you drive the 3.0 you're going to want that, so maybe it's better you don't. Because it's more of everything. More power, better brakes, better suspension, better interior, etc.

I drove a lightly modified 2022 Supra 2.0 w/ S&T pack. (White) for 5 months before trading for a 2021 Supra 3.0 Premium (Phantom <3).
I have a ton to say, but I'll try to keep it brief.

The Supra 2.0 (B48) to me ultimately did not feel like "THE SUPRA" that I've always wanted. It is a great car and an overlooked bargain (for now), but it simply did not meet my fantastical expectations.

If you can afford the 3.0, I would suggest getting the 3.0. (I bought the 2.0 and was almost 8k deep in mods after like 3 months...)

If the 3.0 is going to cause financial headaches & you just want "A SUPRA" to scoot you around town, then the 2.0 would be great for you.

yeah.im comfortable with 43k but i could go with 55k.but the only color they have for 3.0 is yellow, which i dont like.thats the only dealer close to me to have in lot.in regards to power.i did own the evo x before tuned and it made 360 after aftermarket and tune and i wanted more.but then i become a family man and all things change.thats why i dont know if my feeling way back will hunt be back for more power.lol.specially the modding bug.

You sound like you should get the 3.0... Just get the 3.0 lmao.

You are not going to NOT modify the 2.0, I can already tell.

Regarding which color: shop and take your time. I believe the market is pretty oversaturated with Supras right now, and dealers are finally starting to notice. I've had several dealers who originally had crazy markups reach out to me in the past few days with updated prices.

lol.i think youre right.so you previous own a 2.0 and switch to 3.0?if you dont mind me asking.coz i was thinking if i get the 2.0 for now and later trade it for 3.0 specially hearing that theyre releasing a 6 speed manual.would i be loosing $ from getting the 2.0 from the start?

You will almost certainly be losing money. If you really want a stick, and you’re looking at the Supra 2.0, you’re better off with a GR86.

it was never 2.0 vs 3.0

for me it was 2.0 vs AT 86/230/etc, I had a MT miata and it was just too light and flimsy for the 99% times I was driving around town not track. And I didnt need 3.0 power but I at least wanted a sports car that could keep up with all the jackrabbit CUV and minivans around.

If bmw made an "i2" or still sold the 1- or mcoupe that would have been my top pick for sure. Some ppl here have stuck bmw badges on their toyota but Im not that vain.

I agree with above if you want to mod the motor its not a bad one but anything more than a ~320 hp piggyback tuner just put that money into the 3.0 from the start.

This alone tells me you wont be happy with the 2.0

IMO the Supra isn't a light tossable car like an 86 or Miata where the lack of power can be made up for by the pure driving experience and handling characteristics.
