I've always been a diehard Android guy, so I'm curious to know if Toyota has any plans to put Android Auto in next year's Supra. Anyone have any clue?

Agree, I have always been an android guy too. I switched to Apple because of the Supra and I regrated the chance. I want my Android phone back because Apple doesn't play well with others.

I read that supposedly BMW, nor Toyota, have any intentions to add Android Auto to future Supras. Hopefully that's not true.

It's pretty ridiculous how cheap 2018+ cars have android auto, even on base models, but not the Supra.

There is an alternative though; there's a company called BimmerTech that makes Android Auto enabled infotainment systems for Supras. Here's some links:

Android Auto MMI Prime Retrofit for BMWs and MINIs | BimmerTech (bimmer-tech.net)

(1094) Android Auto & CarPlay For Toyota Supra A90 – Installation Tutorial - YouTube

I've never seen one in person, but I've read some reviews on reddit and they look pretty nice and credible. There's some BimmerTech dealers that can mount it for you, you just have to check if there's one near.

I'm debating whether to do this or switch to iPhone. I love my android so much, but not having android auto is getting to my nerves.

I wouldn't hold your breath at all, I'm an android person and I'm just going to get a really good phone mount so the phone is exactly where I want it instead of compromising

It baffles me why they still don't have it considering most, if not, all new Toyotas and BMWs already come with both

Because the I drive version bmw gave toyota for the supra didn't support it. So unless they upgrade that, I wouldn't hold your breath for Android auto coming to the supra. I have the bimmer tech mmi, one of the best upgrades of you use android. That and their sub upgrade really makes it a lot more enjoyable.

May I ask, how much did it cost?

The issue why I'm a bit reluctant to get it is because my phone is crapping out, so it would require for me to buy a new android, plus the mmi; it would he cheaper to get the iPhone, but I dislike iPhone.

Yep, this is correct. And looking at the 2023 press release photos; per the Screen, iDrive center control buttons, and image on the screen itself, they are still using the same old iDrive system that only supports Apple CarPlay.

Just get the MMI prime box from Bimmertech. It was the first thing I did when I got my Supra. It's not perfect, but works just as good as most OEM AA systems. The only real down fall is that you cant use the touch screen with it, only the i-drive knob.

Makes we wonder if Anroid Auto is available on Supras delivered outside of North America. I mean, Andoid is by far preferred over IOS globally, so why not make AA available? Only in the U.S. is IOS more popular, but even then it's still pretty close. I just think it's a mistake not to offer AA along with Car Play on pretty much any modern car.

I watched one of their videos on it and am a little confused, so it looks like it kind of functions as a separate menu/system to the i-drive, and you can go back to your i-drive systems whenever you want. Does the touchscreen still work when you're in the normal i-drive system or is it disabled completely?

If your phone is on the way out, that would be something you have to pay regardless. I will note that a good phone is key to a good experience with it. Cost... I don't use apple, so for me totally worth it.

Its not, because idrive 6 doesn't support AA. All supra's have idrive 6.

Yeah everything works normally when you aren't on the MMI/AA screens, touch screen and all. Its very easy to switch back and forth as well, just a long press of the Menu button to swap back and forth between them.
