Any must have mod recommendations for keeping the 3.0 Supra engine cool during track days? I've been trolling around this great forum while waiting for my 2nd Supra to arrive and heard a few people mention a loss of power or dreaded "limp" mode during hot track days. I've never had any issues with my MX5 or a former S2K in extreme heat conditions at Sebring or Homestead (Florida swamp weather).

Evolution of Speed intake manifold.

It has been shown that an upgraded intake manifold is your best bet against heat soak. The CSF radiators are good but not even close to a beefy manifold.

The big players that I know are moving over to the EOS manifold for their drag applications. Everyone at the dyno was amazed at how quickly my car cooled down between dyno runs when it was almost 100F outside. EOS manifold is a beast.

I've been saying this since texas. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (that's also an EOSpeed Ice Box).

Still haven't had power drop on track. That said, I'm on stock tune. There is your answer, unless you want to spend $4,000 on an intake manifold.
Good to hear @razorlab! Yeah more grip, brakes and not overheating will be my focu$...No one drags their MX5 🤣 (that I know of), so it's really cool to see all the different applications and mods available for this car!!!! For my use I doubt it'll come to needing an EOS intake (even though it's bad ass!).

The Versus turbo heat shield seems to be really popular across all the forums. Does it really make a difference? Or is it for looks? I haven't had a turbo charged car since the 3rd gen RX-7. I really wish I kept that car 😭

It does but not enough to make a difference my intake is cool enough to touch it immediately after getting off track but I still end up pulling power towards the end of the day when gets hot .... EOS manifold is required

You're still seeing a power drop at the end of the day with the EOS manifold?

Typically track times will improve as the day goes on, track gets hotter, tires get stickier, confidence builds, etc... I had a RX8 that went into dreaded "limp-mode" and dumped a lot of money into trying to fix the issue. I eventually sold it.
