Hello all,

Let me start by saying that I truly do not want this to be another dumpster fire or attacks on people. If you have a complete horror story, you can send a pm but I don’t want this sidetracked please.

I am attempting to gauge responsiveness from tuners who do their tunes remotely. I will add that it will be with ECUtek and a custom tune. Given they service multiple clients/time zones, etc, and personal lives, I would like to make sure I deal with someone with great service too.

Thanks.

Well responsiveness is not necessarily the correct term. Its made to sound like the tuners don’t care enough to return responses.

You should be asking which tuners are more than like able to give you a faster turn around time based on availability.

The top guys: Visconti, Marin, Botti, Payn, Twisted are slammed with work to support upcoming events as well as tuning their own cars.

My question to you: is what is your timeline for a custom tune?

If you’re expecting to be done in 1 week well good luck with that.

I am not implying they don’t care in any way. Your points were exactly my point.

I also do not have current expectations, I am doing my due diligence. The whole expectations vs reality thing.

I got a custom stage 2 flex fuel tune from Visconti about a year ago. We did maybe 5-6 logs and 2-3 map revisions in the first day or two after I paid, then there was a week gap, then another few logs and a revision. I don’t know what his availability looks like these days, but a year ago it was very fast.

I'm tuned by Payn. Jeff is quick once he gets to you, but it really depends on what you're looking for. Especially if you need track support. If you need track support, pretty much any of the big names will be there for you. It's not a bad idea to schedule time with them for a dyno day if you're really looking to dial it in. I need track support and usually get it fast. <- this is far from free.

If you're looking for a good street tune, you'll get yours in order, by pretty much any of them. You'll do a few logs, get a revision in a few days, repeat until you're 'done.' Once it's done it's done in a 'daily/street tune' situation so it really doesn't matter all that much.

For my custom street tune by Botti it was 20 days back in May. Since then his workload has increased and mentioned to expect longer lead times.

@zrk when are you going to master the Ecutek platform and start offering a tuning service. 😛

Visconti for Stage 2 Custom Flex - Paid Marshall at 5pm, John called me and sent me the starting tune at 11pm same day (midnight his time). After sending a log, I get either an adjusted tune or 'OK now log this' within 2 days. Tried other options for less, but Visconti does what he says - that's worth it to me.

I just got done getting a custom tune from Botti. Sent my first email with my mods list on July 2 and finished tuning with him the other day.

Any delay was entirely on me, as I have a pretty busy work schedule. After I finally managed to send him the logs he requested I would receive either a revision or further instructions within a day or so.

I’ve got absolutely zero negative things to say about the final tune I received or the process.
