Man, I seriously get no attention with mine, which is mostly fine. I have got a couple of thumbs up and stuff. And some respect from the older muscle guys at the track, but nothing like what I'm reading about here.

It's probably pretty dependent on the area. I'm in Chicago so I blend in pretty well.

Yeah, my MKV got a lot of attention in the Huntsville, AL area. The demographic the attention came from was well-distributed, as well.

However, every time I took it to Nashville, TN (largest city near me)--almost no one gave a shit about it. lol.

This (even if you're not single, just hate cooking). Also depending on how late your schedule is, it's often the only option - although I have finally found a grocery store that's 24/7 so now there are a few more options.

I pretty much always get a comment from someone working drive-thru, gas station, and occasionally just someone walking through the office parking lot when I arrive/leave.

Two cool stories I think anyhow, was this past Sunday at a cars and coffee meet up as I was leaving a kid fresh out of college came over. Asked about the car and what I've had done and goes on about it being his dream car, but focusing on paying college loans off etc. Asked if I could take him for a ride, of course I did.

About a year ago, I was outside in my apartment complex doing something with it, can't remember. This mother came over and asked if her son could come look at it as he asks her about it all the time. And he came over and just looked in awe. Made my week. Other than that it's mostly just "nice bmw!"

I’ve had good and bad experiences:

• I wash it at one of those laser washes, a lot of car bros also wash their cars/trucks here along with normies. Everyone vacuums after they get washed and that’s where all the shit happens. I’ve had one truck burnout, another diesel burnout, V8 high revs, pops from 4 bangers, this is all while the car is turned off and I’m vacuuming it. They do this as they are leaving, annoying but this didn’t happen when I had my IS350.

Just touchless, high pressured mixed with soap, no brushes. I still hand wash, but this is always good in a crunch.

I have only ever seen one other mk5 here in rural Kansas. Had a guy in a Jeep hit the brakes going the other way and yell "what the fuck is that thing?". I have guys come up and talk to me at the gas station like 75% of the time. Kids always stop and look or wave. People in nice cars often give thumbs up.

In this area, you don’t see many of us on the road, I barely see any other ones, maybe one every other two weeks? And I know 3 other owners in the area!

Funny enough, I work on Capitol Hill, last week I took it into the city for work, as I’m pulling in, a white A90 pulled in right behind me to pull in. Two A90’s pulling into congressional buildings, looked like we did it on purpose. The Capitol police looked confused for a sec. I would’ve loved to see a picture or video us pulling in. No real point to this, just thought it was cool to have a battle buddy at work.

I've seen a few, but not many.... there was the white one that got shot at Seven Corners. SuperDave has a phantom and we've hung around before. But I haven't seen a lot. This is more of a BMW / Tesla area. (I get it)

Additional funny story. In a pure attention seeking move, I enjoy grabbing a DD iced coffee and going for a drive through Georgetown, then GW, then down monument row. Go around the White House, then head home. A few months ago, as I drove past the White House, a cherry red interceptor car pulls out of the WH gates and is up my ass going down 15th past Old Ebbitt. Before we get to Constitution, he pulls next to me, then in front and waggles. Turned into the passing lane and I pulled up next to him and waved. One horn honk, and he took off.

I've had more humorous interactions with in a year..lol.....every time I get in the car.

Hell, I went to lunch today and a guy was revving the engine in the parking garage. I moved quickly to the elevator. He still caught me asked me if i had my dyno's that he could see.

EVERY DAY. And I don't hate it.

I usually spend 20 mins at a gas station shooting the shit with either workers or randoms coming up to talk about it


•I had some random girls from 2 different groups from out of country pose on my car and leaned on it like they were modelling on it when i took the drive down PCH last weekend. Me and my girl just stared and was "oh god. ". Literally random girl takes a pic as soon as i pull up, me and my girl were walking back up after seeing the scenery, ANOTHER group of girls took pics and were leaning/ modelling on the car..

Long story short, i wiped the whole front end down at our next scenery stop lmfaooo

•Also, kids in the backseat of their parents cars usually go ape shit when they see it, then the parents start recording as i pass by.

•many randoms asking for revs at a stoplight.

•people on the freeway asking to hear a quick pull

•guys at the dyno day shitting bricks as soon as they saw my car hit 170+mph in 6th

•let's not even start when i cruise through downtown or anywhere heavily populated

•people stop by my job just to see the car

•cops love looking at me (pretty sure i know why)

•i was a superstar when i took the car to mexico.

•teenagers in high school either drooling or revving at me (til' they hear the turbo decel spool down )

•couple of elder people telling me the car is either bitchin or looks cool.

•sometimes have my girl drive the car (i ride shotty of course) so she can feel what it's like driving a sports car, group of guys straight jaw dropped lmfaoo

I get alot of double, triple, quadruple looks. Especially on base I'm a staff sergeant so alot of officers expect to see another officer driving it like a captain or major, then I get out. I get the oh man that's deployment money or you can afford that sergeant. I head nod and go you'll see next month. Off base I get all kinds of looks so far only 4 supras in the area that I seen. Dudes mainly approach about the car, women see it like cool car but that's about it.

Driving bk I from Ohio couple was eating at McDonald's, i ordered food but sat near the window to stare at my car lol. Couldn't enjoy my food cause I wanted to keep driving. Couple leaves guy knows the car. After few minutes I walk out gurl like awesome car you'll get all the women now. I'm like nah most dnt kno what the car is. She goes who would say no to you? I'm like oohh kaayy girls with their man or wives. She looks at me with a glare and goes I doubt that very much. I looked at him I could see heart sank. I walked to get in laughing she's now on the passenger side , I start the car she goes are you local? I'm like nah passing thru just came here to buy the car. She goes oh NSA fun. Dude just stood in front her lol I drove off.
