This was also during a pretty crazy time during the pandemic. I'm sure timelines have shortened!

Update 4:45PM EST -
Processing ETA now provided with the F status of no later than 10/31 - dealer is optimistic that we beat that.

Holy crap so that means it’ll be here by 10/31?! I’m pretty sure they’ll stop by my dealer first before yours :p

I've had an interesting experience trying to secure an allocation for any manual Supra recently. Obviously every dealer is different but I have put one refundable $1,000 deposit down, gone on to lists for about 3-4 other dealers for free and only 1 dealer in my area said they are charging a mark up. My favorite one is that a dealer told me that "we only get 2-3 Supras a year" and would go on to say they will need a $1,500 deposit to get on their list....the higest I've seen in my area....why would I do that after they just told me that? Then there is one more large-ish dealer in my area that is requiring a NON-REFUNDABLE $1,000 deposit. I know it is my money and depends on what I can afford but what do you guys think? Should I go all in and try to maximize my chances? For context as I said I've already got a refundable deposit down with another dealer and I'n also with several others that are free...I don't mind waiting too much...and I'm aiming for 3.0 or 3.0 premium trim levels with no real color preference except I don't think I want black.

ive had really bad experiences with dealers who do no deposit lists. I see the exact car being allocated for my preferences and it just so happens to be sold the moment I follow up despite being the first one on the list. I'd stick to refundable as nonrefundable is probably not worth it unless they're getting a ton of supras.

Agreed - non refundable deposit only OK if they are immediately giving you the allocation.

Thanks for the insight guys and I am inclined to agree about the non-refundable.

As for the no deposit lists, even those have all been different experiences for me. 2 dealers; all they asked me was for my contact info and nothing else. Then one other dealer actually had me sign 2 documents, one being a "reservation form" and the other being a hypothetical supra build complete with price and projected finance numbers that they said was "just a place holder until your actual car gets built, then we can revisit the terms"

I've wondered as others have here about the merit of deposit vs no deposit lists and the likelihood of either being filled by an allocation. As I said I don't mind waiting, just sucks that we can't get a garuntee of an allocation. I'd be okay waiting 1-2 years if they were able to confirm orders and just say "hey it will be while"...just the unknown makes me worry sometimes that I'll never get a car haha

My dealer just said that my status is "shipment pending". Is that the same as F status?

Shipment pending might mean it is in G status depending on whether or not it’s on a truck yet.

To me, I interpret that as F or G, likely late stage F since it alludes to processing being complete.

Sounds promising! Thanks!
