I don't think anyone here said the MKV won't use a BMW motor in the car, people calling the toyota-tuned bmw motor a toyota motor is just semantics.

He isnt the only one stating CGI block with Yamaha involvement, its over on BimmerBoost as well
Again, who are these "reputable sources" over at BimmerBoost? Is it "E46TTR"...hehe. I mean, we should all stop with assumptions and rumors and start utilizing actual facts. Unfortunately, that's not happening because Toyota (at least with the MKV Supra) is refusing to share or divulge any hard facts. This is what happens when facts are not available, rumors start and fake news start spreading....

The whole BMW-motor subject is old news, right? What would be nice, is if people wouldn't continue with the "Z4 is using a Toyota developed BMW motor" banter. It's a BMW developed motor that will be in both cars....at least from what we all have heard and seen from real sources.

I never said they were reputable, just that those 'facts' exist elsewhere.

That's definitely taken out of context. Toyota made improvements to the BMW motor and BMW implemented the changes to other models, I don't think that is so far-fetched.

Id like to add, when do not know what is under the huge engine cover so we have no idea what did or did not change. You would never be able to tell the difference between a 1jz and 2jz if they didnt have different valve covers and valley covers. Now imagine them both having an even bigger plastic cover over the entire motor, they'd be identical when looking under the hood

I'd say it would be fair to say co-developed, but Toyota had a large hand in this motor. now, that doesn't change it being made by BMW, but there is an important distinction there.

when you ship motors back to Japan and tear them down to nothing and revise and improve all parts for quality and reliability, have contracted ex-Yamaha engineers ( this was a team; not sure where on earth you got the idea it was one guy) revise the head and make flow improvements, and then reassemble with all the changes and send it back to BMW. Well, that's no longer a "BMW developed motor" lol.

Anyhow, I'm done with this place at this point. If folks want to ask anything, I'll have my thread and PMs open as per usual, but I'm not gonna deal with the negativity any longer.

Someone rang?

You rang???

#snip
Regardless of whose info is right, and which rumors are true or not, I'd just like to opine out loud (since nobody else will bother to say it) that you come off as a rancid, gaping, asshole. Almost makes me assume that you and SS900 are the same person.

No apologies, 0 fucks given.

That's all.

Peace.

well this was pretty unexpected, I didn't think BMW would want to use anything developed by Toyota on their Z4...imagine, if BMW's engineers were stuck up about Toyotas when this Supra project began, it will be interesting to find out how BWM fans react to the Z4. The redline mystery begins..

Look man, you don't need to get butt-hurt about other peoples opinion on this forum. Whether you decide to stay or leave is your decision and should not be influenced by any other forum member. All im saying (and have said in the past) is, unless you have proof of something...avoid "hinting" or leading folks towards something that you yourself are not 100% sure about. Am I right?

In terms of the whole Yamaha ex-engineer(s)....I wasn't specifically speaking of one engineer, I was referring to multiple (that's why I said one, two or three). My point is, what proof can you provide (legit proof) that Yamaha engineers are involved in any way in this project,or proof of anything else you have mentioned? Overhearing something from the cubicle next door means nothing.

Right, because it's so difficult for forum admins to trace IP's and see that we are the same person.

Who has anger issues now?

Yeah, that will be interesting...

I am a hard believer that no German auto maker would EVER take cues from a Japanese auto maker. Especially BMW who is basically an expert on inline six engines and the only last remaining maker of straight six engines. However, I am not a Toyota employee nor am I an "insider", so...

I dont get buthhurt over opinions, but I do find incredibly annoying when you're very negative and demand facts and evidence directly from Toyota when that is clearly in short supply and always has been...

when have I ever had proof of something? It's all based on what I can get from the engineers and my colleagues.

but as said, I'm done posting in individual threads. good luck on your endeavors.

I think he's been very clear from the beginning that this is all speculation and rumours, much of which has been proven right. In fact look at the minimal stuff that we do know at this point and much of it was passed on by him in some way before we learned it as fact. At this point people are getting upset with somebody for passing on inside rumours, which they have clearly stated multiple times are rumours, all because they believe their hunch is actually more likely correct.

As far as I'm concerned him and a couple of others have been the only source of ANY new information on this site whatsoever beyond people circle jerking about the MKIV and speculating about what color seats they would order on a car that isn't out. I would rather get little hints every now and then and use my judgement to figure out what i believe or don't.

Within a year we'll all know and maybe most of the stuff A70 has said won't come to fruition, but regardless I appreciate him passing on the info as he hears it, without people like him this place would be a ghost town of irrelevant content.

I'm not going to read through all this as I'm still super busy over here, but I did want to say this:

I spoke to a couple Z4 engineers at the reveal yesterday and they were singing praise about Toyota. "This partnership has been incredibly beneficial as both BMW and Toyota are experts in their fields." He went on and talked about how their different outlooks and approaches came together to build a car that neither company could/would have built independently.

Of course, no BMW employee would talk bad about Toyota at this stage, but these guys were engineers and designers, not PR guys, and they seemed very earnest.

Anyways, that's all. Stop arguing about useless junk please, I'm much too busy lol.

@PerformanceSound Learn to show some respect. A70TTR doesn't need to be sharing this stuff with us, but he did. Atleast appreciate the effort that these guys go through to bring the forum the latest and greatest regardless of it being a fact or whatever.

Honestly, no one else is stressing out about this. Just you. In fact you are the one who sounds mad butthurt. If you don't like what you see or hear, stop lashing out at people on the forum. We are on the same boat. So take a chill pill, cause no one cares. Really. It's just a car at the end of the day. Grow up and move on.

Too many "new" Canadians on this thread....follow the rest of the sheep.

Don't tell me who I should or shouldn't respect.
