2. The 3800lb nearly 1ft longer M2 chassis?

Besides that, I suggest looking at your points from a business perspective instead of a tuner wishlist and everything will make more sense.
As I said before, most of these opinions are just that opinions, unrealistic ones at that. It is a tuner wish list literally nothing more, that's why they are opinions. I don't run Toyota lol

My thoughts (not that it matters im sure):

The MKIII is the most ā€œloadedā€ of all Supraā€™s. Toyota threw everything they had into it; powerful motor, good chassis, nice sharp aero, comfy seats, and electronics to make RoboCop jealous. It was heavy and reliability was hit or miss (depending on how you drove it).

The MKIV isā€¦.wellā€¦.a MKIV. Bulletproof powertrain and drivetrain. Lighter than a MKIII. Awesome brakes. Best interior layout to be put in a car next to a McLaren F1. Excellent quality partsā€¦.even 30yrs later. Pretty car with just the right sports car proportions (doesnā€™t look wrong from any angle) even by todayā€™s standardsā€¦still a head turner. Chassis isnā€™t all that great, especially with targa option. Lack of other Toyota tech that Lexus had at the time (NAV, leather type, lighting, etcā€¦). For itā€™s time, it was great! Today, it needs heavy mods to compete.

MKV is very good out of the box. Fast, lightweight, great handling, great brakes, and smooth & refined. The motor has proven to be very stout and the transmission is a gem in this carā€¦.shifts quickly and crisply. Interior has no resemblance to any previous Supraā€™s, but the materials feel nice and high quality. Tons of tech (which is almost a necessity nowadays). The design idea (externally) is there (FT-1ish), but the proportions seem slightly off. Itā€™s a pretty car, no doubtā€¦.but some angles donā€™t flow right and donā€™t merge together well. Yeah, BMW co-developed it with Toyotaā€¦.but, itā€™s got all the qualities of a Supra.

Definitely agree with you on every single point. Especially the ones about looks, some angles dont feel right on the MKv.

The weight if the car never bothered me after I took her through a couple of fast tight turns.. it's not a Miata, but the car does not feel as heavy as it shows on paper.. I'm on stock suspension with just the front BMS strut bars. I know back in the pre-2010's cars felt a lot more nimble, but that can also mean it feels cheap and tiring on the street. It's not lazy, it's just relaxed.

I'm just gonna respond to one point.

The S58 sounds like ass to me. Good motor, but the sounds it produces makes me wish it came with 15 resonators to make it as quiet as possible. The B58 is honestly a perfect fit to the Supra than an S58 would.

other than that, the MKV Supra is a great car.

damn, i'm surprised to hear that from an MKIV owner, if we were to post up saying that "our cars are Supras" on supraforums, we would get our asses ripped like no tomorrow on there.

You will be whipped and crucified if you say anything that even remotely hints at anything negative about the MKIV on Supraforumsā€¦.weird because itā€™s called Supraforums not MKIVSupraforums. Donā€™t get me wrong, I too had my doubts initially about the MKV, but as more information came along (pre-release) and after my brother got his 2021 and I got some quality time being around it and driving itā€¦.itā€™s a solid car worthy of the Supra name. People can talk shit all they want, but the facts are the MKV is the better car overallā€¦.and it should be, itā€™s 30yrs newer!

Next time someone says the mkiv is better than the MKV i will ask if the mkiv is faster than the MKV stock for stock and either they will be wrong or admit the truth lol

Stock for stock a MKIV will get left behindā€¦.and anyone who disagrees canā€™t handle the truth. I have videos of my brothers brand new stock 2021 dusting my stock 1994 MKIV. Now, one of our good friend has a 600whp modded MKIV and that thingā€¦.well, itā€™s nuts. Itā€™s not 1000whp, but even at 600whp, itā€™s very fast!!!

There is no arguing that the MKIV can be modified to kill super and even hyper carsā€¦.itā€™s been proven time and time again. However, the MKIV has had 30yrs to mature into this badass street fighter. The MKV has only been out for whatā€¦.2.5yrs???ā€¦.and is already in the 7ā€™s!!! The cool factor of the MKIV is the legendary mechanicals and the fact that itā€™s the last Supra made in Japan by Toyota (which is something not to downplay), but the MKV is doing some impressive stuff as the platform matures.

Loved that video it was really great to hear the story of the cars creation and also good knowing itā€™s very different than the FRS/GR86 relationship.

I for am glad they did it otherwise a Supra may have never come back and that would just be a shame.

As for the engine. Tough to say BMW has some sick I6ā€™s and call me A sucker for more HP I have to agree having a top spec option with 500hp from the factory really tickles me in the all the right places.

I have driven both cars and they are very different. IMHO the Z4 is more gentlemanā€™s touring car with no roof and a somewhat sporty attitude if you want it, but it feels GT first sports 2nd. The Supra feels more sports car first but is a great GT car but with the underrated power, sport looks, sport feel it was, to me sports first GT 2nd. The two while looking similar inside have very different road manners. Like I donā€™t see myself wanting to modify a Z4 to go fast and go to the strip or go autocross or do track days, I do see all of that for the Supra!

Some days I wish it was a 4 seater so I could drive it when we all go out together but when Iā€™m by myself Iā€™m so glad itā€™s a 2 seater in the size it is. I love the Porsche cayman and if it was easier to get one Iā€™d have one to know that car was a target for this cars design makes me happy. Iā€˜m glad its not an M knock off if I wanted an M car Iā€™d just get one of those we all know they are great no need to dupllcate it with a different badge on it.

Maybe BMW is a bit sore Toyota tuned the Supra better I can hear the Germans cursing under there breath ā€œze stupid Japanese how dare ze outperform us with our own stuffā€ I can see that causing A little strifeā€¦

Umm. I think you may need to go to an optometrist. šŸ˜‚ I really hate to admit it but the MY23 Z4 interior is light years ahead of the Supra.
