thanks for sharing, i enjoyed the article. they praised what should be praised, criticisms were accurate, etc. loved the amount of praise the Type-R and GR Corolla received

....... and the $53,000 Z Performance was out-performed by a $34,000 FWD Hyundai. beautiful day

I think I'm blind, not even a picture of it in the article?

"Alas, early in our testing, the Z’s suspension suffered damage after hitting a curb on Monticello’s tight switchback after the straight. Every other car hit that curb repeatedly for two full days without a problem, but it put the Z out of the competition almost before it started."

I read that too, figured they had some pics of it on the way there.
Featuring a car but have no pics of it :dunno:

Um, doesn't the front arm in our car bend too when you hit it hard?

No. It bends when you put aftermarket stuff on with incorrect geometry. No one bangs more track curbs than I. At VIR on the uphill esses my car identifies as a motorcycle.

if you're curious on how it looks in-person, with aftermarket parts, wheels, etc., you can check the Z forum! they've got several threads

So, where do you guys think the Supra would sit in that lineup...right behind the M4?

For real, it seems every other day there's another magazine article, YouTube video, or forum post highlighting just how much the new Z truly sucks in the real world. There's not going to be a real fix either, because when you build your sports car on a poor foundation, it's forever bound to those limitations. Even at MSRP, it doesn't feel like a compelling buy anymore, and at over MSRP, it might as well come with a freshly-laminated clown license, and a pallet of aloe for all those burns.

Sure, plenty of other coveted cars are turds underneath, but they are also so stunningly beautiful that we'd pedal them with our damn feet and still be proud to own one. The Z isn't one of them.

It's also showing all of the BMYota collaboration haters, just what happens when an automaker decides to build a "new" $50k sportscar all by themselves. Without being able to share engineering and development costs for a fresh platform and bespoke components, the only option is to dig deep into the company parts bins and recycle almost everything.

And I really wanted the Z to be good, as I'm a huge Z32 fan, former overall Nissan enthusiast, and the Supra deserves a decent 'Japanese' competitor.

Heading off to the Z forum to read how its not a track car and just a nice daily and their excuses on why its still a better deal with the Sport version at 40k..... if you can buy one..

Like someone said if you wanna go look at the car head to the forum and they have several examples... like what all 6 owners that got them?

I'm impressed by the Elantra N, 270 ish horsepower, their first attempt at an econo-racer... Really well done.

I had the 370z, it was a decent platform at the time in stock or bolt on form, but even back in 2010 it wasn't "great" and would struggle to put down power when I supercharged it.

I can't believe they recycled it. I dropped my deposit on the car when I found that out.

weren't you the one that failed to notice someone running an aftermarket downpipe on a supra in someone's youtube video? .. that you shared

you certainly browse the Z forum more than i do-- surprising you can't use the 'search' function, which is the same as we have on here.

https://www.nissanzclub.com/forum/threads/pics-vids-of-nissan-z-with-aftermarket-wheels.444/page-7

failure in attention to detail is considered dangerous.. i certainly hope you're not your own mechanic :)
