Great, thanks for the tip. I have skimmed through this thread and seen some recommendations of dealers outside of Texas so that may be my next option. Flying out and then driving 500+ miles back isn't an ideal situation for me, and sort of in line with my frustration that buying this car is so complicated. I have bought my fair share of high demand vehicles in the past, albeit most pre pandemic, and it was never this poor of an experience. When I was shopping for a TRX I had multiple dealers in the state trying to win my business and it is a much more limited vehicle than the Supra. I think overall Toyota dealerships have so little experience with a car with this kind of demand and customer base, that they just have no idea how to sell it and service their customer. Having a 24 year old kid they just hired from waiting tables trying to sell Supras with 10k ADM over the phone to people is just a bad business model. But, at the end of the day they are moving units so I guess I am just being whiny/entitled.
Just buy out of State. Shipping is a breeze and about a buck a mile to transport to you. On average…

2.5k mark up on a White 3.0 Base - MT. Is it worth it? It has the JBL/Tech Package.
If you’re done shopping, why not. And how much extra coin you want to go in your mind. Me… not a dime over MSRP. Like @GoldenEye said, it’s a personal thang. What you want to do. MSRP cars are clearly out there. Lots of great dealers selling at MSRP, thanks to lots of great post on here. So glad to hear it!!!!! I would definitely rather reward them and pay the shipping. And if I lived close to @GoldenEye, I’d use him in a heartbeat ?

2023 3.0 Premium AT Absolute Zero
So a couple days ago I posted whining about not being able to find a 2023 at MSRP. Well my complaining put something into the universe because one of the dealers that told me originally an insane markup reached out and I went and got one at “MSRP” + ttl. $59,549 3.0 premium in Absolute Zero with drivers assist package; I am sure I will get hate but I got the ZF8 because I really enjoyed in on the test drives and wanted to see what these new age autos are all about.

I did have to pay for all the stupid distributor stuff like the carbon fiber mirror caps and $75 bag of phone cables lol. Oh and the mysterious $400 vehicle protection package, but delmall this stuff is added by Gulf States at the port and was on the sticker so not like I really had a choice on it. But I still consider it MSRP I guess since it was all on the sticker.
I am a fool and have already ignored the break in but yolo right?
Anyways, going to try and take it as easy as possible for 1200 and then DP this beast because I want it louder already haha.

Glad to join the community and thanks flying to people here and in my frantic WTB post, pushing me in the right direction. I guess get in as many salesman’s ears as possible and wait until the end of the month when they need to move these cars and be ready to jump on it.

Also my salesman was not very enthusiastic to sell me this car at all, he was actually kinda cold once I got up there and denied their financing and other add on stuff. Oh well, I got a deal I’m happy with.

If anyone in Oklahoma or willing to travel and looking for a car at MSRL. I bought my 3.0 Premium at MSRP from Post Oak Toyota in Midwest City, OK. I'm not sure if they have any in stock but they aren't charging over MSRP.

Has anyone had any luck trying to buy a car from a dealer who won't sell out of state. Or is there any way around it (like asking a local dealer to do a trade?). It's infuriating to see a car I want on a lot / allocation yet being unable to buy it.

I just moved on to other dealers when they told me this. Rather deal with dealers willing to do so, keep it simple…

Just a fair warning, Toyota Autonation of Fort Myers is no longer selling any Supras at MSRP. I ordered in Feb 22 and (finally) received mine last month at no markup, but they tried swinging a +$10k market adjustment in my face before the deal was done.

Anyone who tries to get on the list now or buy on the lot is looking at $10k over sticker.

Other than that and the wait, sale went smooth.. so I'll recommend them if you can get a car there at a reasonable price, lol.

That’s great news & glad to hear your sale went smoothly! My Ft. Myers sales guys was actually very nice. However it was taking too long to get my car so I bought out of state. Their service dept is where my real beef ? is at. Naples service has been worth the short drive (for me).

Hit me up when you plan on doing your free track day ? or if you need any local non-dealer service advice. I found some great shops in our FM/Naples area for after market parts and/or the beyond spec alignment, if you ever go that route. Welcome to this incredible community and mega capable platform ?

My experience with their sales dept. was pretty well when I bought mine back in 2/2022 (salesman was a guy name Eddie, he was super nice and I would go back to him again). Its a shame they are now adding markups...

They tried doing the same thing to me as well, when they told me my car arrived, they then tried adding $4k worth of *dealer options* when I went in to finalize paperwork, I argued it so they where nice enough to remove the dealer addons, but then they lowered the price of my trade-in by $4k in hopes I wouldn't notice it..... Felt a little like a bait and switch. It was 100% the finance manager's doing, not the salesman. I could tell the salesman was also getting mad at the Finance Manager as he was trying to pull a fast one on me and I wasn't falling for it. Luckily in the end, I was able to get the car for what I originally planned for, just took a lot longer than it should have.

And I have to agree with @FLtrackdays, their service dept. is sub-par at best. Oddly enough, I just dropped my car off with them today for them to replace my gear shifter, as they damaged it the last time it was in their hands, and they tried saying it wasn't them.... Wish me luck. They still haven't helped with my gas-cap fill door, it doesn't always unlock when I unlock the car and they claim nothing is wrong....

Wow! Glad you both are smarter than the average joes and stood up against those 1980s tactics. That’s really crappy. But apparently it works on some people because they’re still doing it.

That’s another reason I like to do everything online. Review the paperwork before I get there or (sign and deliver out of state). Dealers that can do that have evolved to a more modern, honest, straight forward buying experience.

Good luck ?getting your car back from them unscathed. They talk a good talk but just can’t deliver. You’re more trusting than me ;)

Bought from Fox Toyota in Clinton Tennessee.

3.0 base 2023. It arrived on lot, and a few weeks later it was bought by an employee and sold back with 800 miles and CPO’ed.

So basically we got it with the extended warranty with no markup.

Nah I'm in NJ. I was almost ready to travel down and buy the car (when it was new - they told me they won't care if I'm from out of state as long as I use Toyota financing) but it was taken off market literally a day before I was going to leave. Sounds like it worked out well for you though!

It’s an odd story. I contacted them at the beginning of January when it showed they they were getting it in. They said it was sold, but said we could sit test it since we had never been in one and were shopping for Caymans too. We initially did not like it. We said it felt too tight. But I think it was because it was black in black on black inside of a somewhat dark building. I found the tablet dash a bit off putting too.

But The guy who was supposed to buy it never did. And a few weeks later they “sold” it to a guy there who was waiting on a GR86 to get there. So he put 800 miles on it and his car came and they bought it back and CPO’ed. we went and looked at it again because Porsche Cayman prices just were too far outside of what I called reasonable.

the actual test drive convinced us! So we got it for MSRP and the 7 year 100,000 mile warranty and we got them to give us window and back glass tint. . Good place to deal with for the most part. The finance guy was but if a dingdong though.
