What did you do to your Supra today?

There are a few kits that drop the rear e-brake in favor of a larger fixed caliper. The e-brake error cannot be coded out and disables cruise control.

I went with the Signature Werks BBK because they developed a dual rear caliper setup with a 4 piston brembo caliper plus a 1 piston tesla e-brake caliper that is plug and play, so its the best of both worlds.

I've been following your posts on the Signature Werks BBK. Sounds like a real winner!

Where does the air go? Does this add any function, or is it just looks?

Not "today", but last Thursday I raced on a track for the very first time! SCCA event @ Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, KS. Had an absolute blast passing Miatas and S2000's. The only other cars that I kept up with well were a C8 and a Twin-Turboed GT350R. Not bad for being on all seasons!

II do wish it has 2-pot rears like my STi had. These integrated e-parking brakes are not my favorite design.

Sorry for the noob question, but as a result of the integrated e brake do you have to put the car into a "service mode" to change the rear brakes?

"As is" it's for looks only, but with some custom ducting it can be made into a brake cooler.

Unlike my VW, no you don't have to go to "service mode". The rear calipers need to be spun and compressed. I have found that a careful application of needle nose pliers and a cheap brake piston compressor will get the job done without spending $100 for the actual tool.

Great question.

I'm planning on doing 10+ track events this Summer and cost is definitely a consideration as I expect to burn through these rotors in no time. Also I ordered from FCP Euro (about an hours drive from my house) so I'll take advantage of their outstanding return policy and return these rotors for "free" new ones when they're done.

Obviously there's going to be a small hit to the overall performance by adding a little rotational mass, but I doubt I'll notice it as I'm moving to lightweight 18" forged wheels as well for track duty.

Huh, never knew of such a kit. Quick-Grip always did the job for me. May be picking this up in the future.

If they're going to be replaced for "free" anyways, why wouldn't you just buy the better ones out of the gate? Just thinking out loud again, and I'm very curious as to the weight difference between them. I know extra unsprung mass makes an exponential difference in the behavior of the steering & suspension systems.
