Haha. Great read. Mostly M2 buyers freaking out and trying to make up reason that the G87 is the best of the bunch for everything lol. Car guys never change. Get the g87 for space if needed, get the Supra if you want a real weapon. People are so touchy lol

I'm not. I do think the Supra is the best BMW M car currently out. At least for track driving.

That said, Jackie is hyping the ever living shiat out of the new M2, well, because it creates views. This isn't a criticism, just a reality.
He's possibly chasing more viewers or clout. The new M2 with the S58 is a beast but Jackie knows a lot of people will be searching YouTube for G87 content. Both fantastic cars but it's not fair comparing the G87 with the S58 versus a Supra with the B58.

This review appears to have created an existential crisis in the M2 section of BimmerPost
I donā€™t feel like this review is a ā€œhot takeā€. The majority of reviewers will agree that the new M2 is faster and more luxurious, but has lost the personality that made the old one the best M car produced by BMW.

The only ā€œnewā€ info is the track times between the 3. Which will not be repeated in other track times like Lightning Lap due to the difference in tires. I donā€™t think you can go wrong with any of the 3.

From that BimmerPost thread " Rumors are the S58 in the Supra will come in GRMN form, $95k USD+ range and be extremely limited. There are already deposits at my local dealers for it, so better get on the list now if you want it. "
Has anyone here, apart from Bob, put a deposit down on a GRMN Supra?

There's still zero proof the GRMN, if they make it, will have that engine.

I honestly have no desire for the S58. Its increased TT complexity, cost, and lousy exhaust note are all things to sway me against it, and seriously, it's not that hard to make 500-600 whp with the B58 as it is. Anything more than that is useless on a road course anyways. What more do you really need?

Exactly, I feel like B58 suits the current Supra quite perfectly in terms of fun (sound and aftermarket engine parts), price, cost of maintenance and power. S58 Supra even if it happens, it'll be an over the top car (aka stiffer and more power than you'll need), likely just a collectors item you'll very rarely see on the track. S58 parts are also more expensive than the b58 regardless of source, making it less cost effective for the track day owners.

similar video but straightpipes comparing 400z to supra and m2
Same type of comparison and same type of results. They both pretty much confirmed that the Supra is the better sports car and that the previous generation M2 was a more desirable car. Oh and Yuri is so biased to that Nissan due to owning a Z currently. But then I donā€™t really like either presenter and canā€™t take Yuriā€™s opinion seriously due to his dream car being a Plymouth Prowler.

It will almost certainly be auto only and I just donā€™t see any value in spending that much more for that vehicle unless you only buy it as an investment.

How many car journalists does BMW have to read before they start making what real car enthusiast want?

If Caddy made the CT4-V Blackwing in a coupe I would choose that over anything BMW make. When GM makes better enthusiast vehicles than BMW, the world is out of balance. Luckily there is the Supra.

I guess it's easier to profit off of dickholes with bad tastes that can't drive for shit than people that want a really good looking car that's also fun and exciting to drive, at least that is what BMW's logic seems to be like.

The new 2-series coupe as a whole is so much bigger and heavier than the previous gen 2-series coupe on the outside yet the interior space became smaller than the previous gen 2-series coupe, like wtf BMW?
