I don't understand whats hard to understand about how they work, or how they are complicated? I quite like bmw's setup. Quick tap of the blinker stalk gives nice, quick 3 blink sequence for quick lane change. Or if actually needing to turn/keep the light blinking until the wheel turns enough to turn it off, you do the full pull/click of the stalk.
It's not that it's hard, it's that it's unnecessary overengineered. Not to mention, it's clunky for those unfamiliar with BMW's. I absolutely hated it in my E92 (my first bmw)I don't understand whats hard to understand about how they work, or how they are complicated? I quite like bmw's setup. It's german, everything is over-engineered, just like the E92 seat belt extenders (you know what I'm talking about lol). But like I said I quite like it, I can barely hit it for it to do a quick 3 blink sequence and I can switch lanes and not worry about having to manually click it back off. It's not that it's hard, it's that it's unnecessary overengineered. I don't know Japan sadly but near country of Korea "yes"I'm not saying it's not a lap time but i think it might also be a date. Either 2018/9/22 or 2018/7/22. Are there countries that use that date format?
That’s right. I actually don’t now any German car that doesn’t.I think Mercs are the same regarding the 3 blinks with the light tap not just BMW.
Flashing 3 times is a safety issue, because a short flashing can be overlooked by other driver. In Germany (and other European countries) it is even mandatory to flash at least 3 times. I learned to love the automated flashing from many other vehicles.

Lots of cars have the light tap for 3 blinks. My f150 has it
The number of flashes or the tap to flash is actually irrelevant to this feature. The new 2018 Camry has it as well
Ahhhh, now I understand. Thank you for the clear description. I thought people were being thrown off by the "tap for 3 blinks" feature. I'll pray for the standard tech lol.The number of flashes or the tap to flash is actually irrelevant to this feature.
It is that the BMW stalk is always in the neutral position. In a normal car, the stalk is moved up to turn right and stays there until you have completed your turn or push it down manually. The BMW has a short press and long press, that never actually locks in place, which is beyond annoying when you want to turn it off since it triggers the turn signal in the opposite direction
Edit: The G30 got rid of this nonsense so we may in luck
