Yea same, only reason I put so much pressure on him is because he drag raced me down the straight. I was just surprised he lost it where he did as he was going totally straight at the time. Maybe the Mustang saw a crowd of people to the right? :p
It didn’t look like pressure to me. But my track etiquette may not be as good as yours. You were clearly faster and he should have given the point by way sooner than he did, imo. You got in his rear view mirror for a reason.

Conversely, it’s fun giving point bys. You and a similar lap time car can go back and forth. Learn from each other. Do more offline driving. He could learn more by just letting you go by sooner ?‍♂.

I used to get SUPER fired up about track days with friends. They all quit. I'm doing it all solo. ??
Same! When I started up again with this Supra, the race team (friends) closed down. They all went on their own ways/careers. Other peeps I knew stopped for other reasons. And I took off 2-3 years. Regardless, the Supra community has been amazing! Every Supra owner I’ve met on track has been great.

Another day at Lime Rock Park. Great seeing @razorlab again. Thanks for explaining that motorsports traction control! I learned a lot about it today.

After 2x car control clinics I'm getting very comfortable with the tsc off, and I'm amazed at how much faster I am with it off. My best of the day (my PB) was 1:06.48, but I was averaging 1:08-1:09 most of the time. I have a lot more in me as does the car.

My last session it downpoured. I did 5X laps in the downpour...it was a blast. I only came in because the inside of my car got SOAKED. LRP turns into a lake when it rains. Downhill is insanely sketchy, huge puddle at the bottom.

Great day all in all. I had a close friend join me in his STi. He hasn't been able to get to the track in a while, but once he knocked the dust off he was having a blast.

I accidently left TCD on for a session. I pulled into the hot pit to turn it off. Instantly shaved 4-5seconds. It's a lap time killer. Extremely intrusive and way, way, way too conservative.

Way to go driving in the rain! You get to feel the limits at much lower speeds and regain control. When it’s dry, it’s actually more dangerous being at that same limit at higher speeds. One of the things I miss driving in Florida summers. Guaranteed daily rain, then sunny after. Once the track drys up again, you feel invincible back in full grip ?

Glad you’re having so much fun! Jealous of y’all. And happy Fourth of July ?? Appreciate your service Wes & maintaining our freedom!!!

I'll tell you, it got much much worse for me going to 200tw tires. I forgot to turn it off one session yesterday and there were whole areas of the track, including "No Name Straight" where it was just constantly on, even going more or less straight. The biggest thing I noticed is that it made my brakes stupid hot after 2X laps.

I tried it on and off in the rain. The car moved around a lot with it off, but it still felt stable. The car felt worse in the rain with it on.

Thanks Mark! The rain was so much fun, and if I could have rolled my window up I would have stayed out. It was just dumping buckets at that point...the car is still wet today! ?

Happy Independence Day and Happy Birthday America!

I've only done one track day in the rain (never again, btw). I don't think I would have went out with windows down. That's nuts, on their part.
Hopefully you own a lot of fans. ?
I was surprised how much rain doesn’t come in when you do. However, I do prefer the groups that let you use your blinkers in the rain instead. We get so much rain. Maybe that’s why they let us do that here ?‍♂.

Derrick Bell use to frequent Sebring quite a bit. Dude literally to told me to get out there or I’ll never figure out car control. Honestly I was going to sit trackside like the rest of the Porsche people. Hardly anyone out there and you go slow as ? at 1st. Next think you know you’re driving off line, finding the dry spots by sight and feel. But definitely slower brother. And it’s not like ice. You stop pretty quick in a slide or spin. Plus, you’ve done this long enough to know where the run off areas are or where you can push it a little more.

Was great to see you again as well!

98% of organizations I have attended events with have this requirement. If there is a person in the seat, the window has to be down. Usually it's the Porsche owners that complain first. :p

I had fun driving in the rain, and all. My problem was how every single session only had a couple of fun laps before some idiot went off course and drug mud all over the track.
Once that happens, the session was pretty much over with.
Rain is fine, but mud is just asking for an accident.

Yuck! I wouldn’t like that either. It rains so damn hard down here that everything gets washed off quickly. I really should get out there and do one track day this summer…. It just so damn hot bro. It’d be my luck that it’d be that one dadgum day it doesn’t rain ?

I have hundreds of laps at this facility on 2-wheels..... ZERO on 4-wheels. I know the track very well.
Completely stock, MT Strat Blue.
Temps will be high 80's and humid.

1. Anyone be there?
2. any expectations or quick 1-liners before I go?
