Are stock intakes better than cold air intakes?

I don't remember how loud the stock intake spool sound was, but my Eventuri intake is noticeably louder in all regards with no degradation in power.

But it can put a dent in the wallet. Maybe not for you..

Also, the snorkel part at the bottom doesn’t even line up or seal to the oem snorkel.
Well damn, there goes my plan for an intake lol A little noise would be cool, but not really loving the idea of increasing temps just for sound lol

i should be getting their intake + inlet soon. i'll report to you how it performs in south florida weather. i used to run an open intake, hated it, but after experiencing the sounds, i can't live without it

I've got the full HKS intake... but leave the top off for all the soundz .. temps be damned ..the noises are part of the driving experience :)

Had the eventuri intake. There was a bit more noise (But also because t51r mod). Ultimately went back to stock box because the t51r mod was actually a smidge annoying for daily driving (outside of the novelty of having big turbo noises with tiny turbo spool). Will be doing the resonator delete. I can still hear my t51 whistle a little, and I assume it's still plenty loud outside as a spectator.

Have the BMS open CAI. Didn’t drive the car much with the OEM box.
However, after adding the Versus heatshield, my IATs dropped a lot. Yesterday during 107F heat, I my IATs kept around low 120s. Last year it was around 140s with the same CAI. I do think if you want the sounds but not the heat, you need the heatshield and maybe some ventybois.

Well shit I guess I'm glad in live in WA, lol...I love the turbo noise from my "hot" air intake and my car feels fast to me so I guess that's a win...

Cut a hole in your hood. I can hear all the turboski sounds now, even with oem box.

Are those sounds slots in your hood?? Also, why is it crooked?

So I understand these are two completely different platforms but on the mustang GT I had it was a similar situation. The stock airbox was engineered so well at keeping IAT's down that the car would perform better. This was the general consensus for a majority of users so much so it was common for most users to keep the the stock CAI unless building an all out drag builds running on good cool DA's days.
