Looking more for gas smell and how loud?? Everyone says you lose the nice deep tone and get a tinny, raspy sound.
Depending on what you’re going to do with your Supra. Mine will ideally have more track miles than street miles. So she’s catless and I absolutely love it! My other 4 cars are all catted and it’s just not needed. I wouldn’t do it unless you’re really going to enjoy the shit out of your Supra (track the hell out of it like Rock).

i'll dissect your questions:

yes, power gain is obviously noticeable. per my tuner, 40whp/80wtq gain from a stock DP (talking about an E50 tune). so with AA DP, let's just throw a reasonable number, like 30whp/60wtq gain.

it's not necessarily louder, it growls more? there's more oomph? pops and burbles are insane, not my thing, but might be yours

SO THE SMELL PART: it's not that bad lol. for some reason in this car, the catless smell isn't as bad as i've experienced in other cars. it doesn't smell nearly as much or as bad. didn't take me an adjustment period, it was automatic. could also be because i expected it so i'm not disturbed

again, yes, you can 1000% feel difference in power. to repeat, i have the MAD Fat Boy 5" Catless DP. it's supposed to be deeper sounding than the 4.5", which it kinda is.. growls more deeper? i guess

also, you can hit "quote" on the bottom right of posts to do a single post with multiple quotes, or the mention (@) function to tag several people :)

correct, which is why i opted for 5" instead of 4.5". i'm satisfied. doesn't sound tinny, only on cold start, but if you're tuned, cold start is removed anyway
Well said ☝ I don’t smell a thing unless I sit in my garage with doors open, and focus on it. It’s a track car, need I say more. On the street, it’s not noticeable. The sound however is. Especially mated to an AWE track exhaust. Damn I love it ? But I’m also a Florida Man dying off faster than everyone else according to the View and other media experts.

A friend showed me his Active Autowerke catted downpipe & exhaust with sport mode button to turn it on and off. OMG, that was so bad ass ? sounded incredible and he has control with the click of a button.

Unlocked 2020 - absolutely beautiful car!!!!! It was one of his 1st mods and he’s a really smart guy. Knows a lot more than me about modern cars stuff. Claims it was easy to do as well.

So if I were you, in a State where it’s questionable to do, the AA dp & exhaust combo would be a great option.

(I can update this post if anyone want to know more about his car, I just have to find his forum name/tag)

I mounted a Maxton V2 front splitter and then went to Mary Lou’s for coffee and scraped the front leaving the lot. Errrrr

Been there done that with the lip I had on my STi. It ended up being a complete nightmare and a lesson learned. This is the reason I am so hesitant to install a splitter on my car.

~ boo on the new spoiler. ditch the nose ring. ?
He actually tracks his car. It's a necessity, not an ornament.

I have an AA catted downpipe now on MHD STAGE 2 on 93, if I go catless will it really pick up any power with just the same ots stage 2 tune???
of course you will. catless are cheaper than catted, so you can actually sell the AA DP and have money left over

Did you end up switching them? Any error codes?
I did end up getting custom red seatbelts but I got mine from an Instagram vendor called WestCoastWebbings. Check them out if you’re interested. Very high quality work. But you do have to send them your seatbelts first.

As for error codes, I did get an error because I had to start the car and move it after I removed the factory seatbelts so I could send them to WestCoastWebbings. Obviously the car recognized there were no seatbelts so it tripped the code. Theoretically if you disconnect the battery and not reconnect it until after installing the new one then you shouldn’t get an error code. If you do get a code, you just need someone to clear it and you’re good.

Installed the CG DS-1 DP today and flashed MHD Stage 2 93 OTS. Can’t wait for the MHD flex fuel. The car rips. Love it.
The DP install was a lot easier than I anticipated. Took about an hour.

Put 590 miles on her driving from home to Minneapolis and back for a friend's wedding. The CU Later gets about 30% the attention my old Nitro Yellow did, but I still saw people taking pictures on the interstate, and some strangers in a modded Civic Si and SAAB 95 Aero peer-pressured me into demonstrations of how much harder she pulls than them. The SAAB guy made my day when he dropped his windows to take in the sound as I left him in the dust ?

I also had the conscious realization about halfway home, that I am truly in love with this car, which I named Sasha, because if you know, you know ?

Like Fuzzy, I put a few miles on the car. Drove about 300 miles from my house to Watkins Glen NY. I was reminded why I84 is one of the worst highways in the country, but rewarded with one of the most beautiful and picturesque drives I've ever done in the Northeast.

I drove with a gorgeous 370Z Nismo and a beautifully done Golf R that were together for over 100 miles, we were all snapping pictures of each other. Saw a badass G80 M3 CS that was yellow and black and had a ton of aero on it.

I'm doing an HPDE on Monday and Tuesday. I'll post pictures and a review of the track and the region later this week!

Here's a picture when we got to Seneca Lodge yesterday!

BimmerLink can clear this type of code.

Finally got the chassis codes on my car cleared. Turns out it had nothing to do with the steering angle sensor as originally thought, but rather the parts that were replaced, namely the headlight, were never programmed to the ECU, and the error codes I had were red herrings.

Also found out from both Toyota of Seattle and Toyota of Kirkland that the body shop that did the work straight up lied that Toyota of Kirkland had the car for fixing the codes in the first place since there was no record of my car being in the system.

But on the plus side: my car is finally fully healthy again, and I'm hoping to get in a track day before it's too cold.
