Z06 supercharged isn't that impressive???? It should be a monster unless he has very low boost??
It was very impressive back in the day. My kenne built bell 4.6L mustang with 23 psi had a hard time keeping up with that zo6. He pushed his luck and that beautiful 427 broke a piston and spit out a rod.

You mean C6 Z06? The LS7 valve drop problem is real, unfortunately. However, to fix/upgrade the heads is a relatively easy job in the grand scheme. The LS stuff is like Legos; heads come off quick. A cam swap is a lot more involved but to just R&R heads can be done in a day with simple hand tools.
Yes, C6. My bad.

It's relatively easy for someone with the tools and experience. Not moi, lol

It is low boost because it's like 11:1 compression. Something like 6-7 psi. I forget what it made on our dyno but I think it was only like 540whp. Does not feel like that much power when you drive it.

A friend of mine at work has a stock 2008 C6 Z06, now I used to have a C6 Grand sport and always wanted to drive the mighty 427. So me and my other work buddy went in the Z06 and he drove my Supra. Now my buddy who drove with me hates my Supra and thinks it's a chick's car and thinks I messed up selling my roush supercharged mustang for it. So off we go.....right away I can't believe how Slow the Z06 felt until how 4 miles down the road I was able to run thru 3rd and 4th gear until redline which felt better, BUT compared to my Unlocked stage 2 downpipe supra it felt like shit. I told my friend this while we were driving and he thought I was nuts. So he told me to pull over so we could drive the rest of the way in my car. Well we pull over and my buddy driving my supra was like holy shit this thing makes my Z06 feel like shit ?????. So I took my friend in the supra with traction off and he couldn't believe the difference!!!! So I was actually thinking maybe next year I would finally buy a Z06, but now I won't because I'm too used to the instant low down TQ of the supra. I was so damn proud of my lil BMW!!!!
I Just sold my Z06 2017 Manual and got the supra 2023 manual to many issues with the vet cracked rims The culch went to floor twice The vet only had 8000 miles on it , Dealer says it would be expensive repair a lot of Corvettes that sit have big problems Love the Supra

LOL shits wack.. I had a stock LS2 that made 500WHP on a baby P1SC at 4lbs. 6-7 on an unopened LS7 should be into the 600s.

I know what you mean. I had a 2001 C5 Z51 for 13 years since new and got tired of spending money on it. I sold it with 52,000 on it. The passenger window motor was getting louder and the AC motor was starting to whine. This is partially why I am not getting a C8.
The Supra certainly is smaller than your Corvette. That's one of the things I like about my MX5 and hopefully, a new Supra.

It's common knowledge the OEM C7 GS/Z06 wheels have cracking issues. There's been attempts at pushing a class action suit for years, unsuccessfully.. They're ugly, heavy and have limited tire options anyway, so the first thing anyone should do is be an adult about it and get aftermarket wheels.

I could be wrong on numbers. I'll ask him next time I see him to verify. Plus our dyno is a big time heart breaker when it comes to numbers.

My Procharged/cammed 2014 Camaro 1LE with an LS3 had 625whp at 6lbs. So yeah something sounds off.

When I was looking for my current new car my first choice was an ultra clean C6 Z06, then I decided that I needed a modern interior and infotainment, and C7 Grand Sports (with a manual) were never around during COVID for a reasonable price.

At that point I had looked around long enough that the Supra manual was about to be announced so I went full send on that.

I enjoy hearing that the Supra was the right move is the consensus with other people as well

When I decided I wanted a 2 seater sports car I considered another Corvette. Last one I had was a C5 ZO6 that I bought new and had for 15 years. I wanted a MT so that ruled out a C8. I went with the Supra and never looked back. I see Corvettes on the road every day. Never see another Supra.

This! I was considering a C8 just cause I liked it vs the old look. Then it was always like 40k over MSRP and I quickly changed my mind. Fortunately, I ended up with a Supra. Now I see c8 all over the place and I kind of don't like them anymore. Why? Because they turn my head and make me think I'm seeing a Ferrari and it's just another C8. Other than that, they aight. Glad I got the Supra though. Might as well be a celebrity how often ppl record/take pics of the Supra.

I almost traded in my Supra like 4 times on a few C6 Z06's and ZR1's.

Reason: I like V8's.

The Supra sounds like any other BMW, and TBH, EVERY exhaust on the market for this car makes it sound the damn same LOL.

Hell, even single turbo'd they all sound the same.

That's annoying.
