I don't find the Supra to be all that "fun", MT or AT. I bought mine to use as a track car, so it sits in the garage otherwise. I have a 54 year old car that I enjoy driving MUCH more. That's my go-to weekend car. The Supra comes out if I want to get the fluids moving, battery charged, etc.
I mean, it's a good car and all but there are so many other cars I'd rather have for fun.

Your username sounds familiar from the evoforum. Is that you? lol.

Anyways, maybe I should hold off on buying a Supra this year. Ima try and see what they offer for the 2025 production year. I was really hoping for a Targa version. I love the prototype Targa Supra they made a few years ago.

Who knows maybe an NSX or an E90 M3 will pop up in my area. That be a nice change from my 4 cylinder cars.

Same name on EvoM, yep! Drive a Supra before deciding, it's the only way you will know, of course. Or you can just buy mine🤣
Kidding, mine is AT.

As an AT and now MT owner, it is a great weekend car if you want something easy and comfortable but stock. It is more of a GT car/ sports touring car, still a ton of fun to be had but not very raw or exciting so to speak, with a few mods you can really wake it up and that's what I have been doing, but getting into cars like my Miata or my dads Viper it is nothing compared to that in terms of a raw driving experience. I have been toying with the idea of trading mine in for my Emira when it comes in next month to get more of that raw driving feel but ultimately decided against it given the financial increase and my already limited ability to drive it in school, plus living in Florida its all straight lines and highways, so figured I will get more "enjoyment" from the supra as an overall car. I don't think you can go wrong with a MKV, I just think they really need some mods to wake it up.

I actually wouldn't touch the Supra if I buy it new. Maybe add a full exhaust setup, fuel and a tune to get those easy hp gain to breakthrough 400+. I think at those hp range, imo its the best for street driven without going full race car mode. I am a big fan of keeping things OEM+.

that's actually what I did and would recommend, I am not a big fan of upgraded turbo builds and anything crazy high horsepower at least for my application, I think around the 500 wheel range ( very easy to do with bolts ons and E50) and a nice suspension setup /exhaust and a few visual things for personal preference, inside and out you can totally transform the feel, does not require a ton of mods, but the small ones makes a huge difference. 10k into a MKV supra can turn it into a car that feels like its 80-100k range in my opinion with S58 beating power, and close to porsche cayman level handling.

Funny bcuz someone mentioned here that he only uses manual shifting and now that I’ve tried it I never just put it in “D” and go. I manually shift every time I drive and it’s pretty fun…
Umm.. that's not manual shifting champ. 😂

I'm also on the waitlist for an Emira. My MT Supra is still completely stock as I'm debating if I should trade in the Supra later. I had test driven an Emira and it feels fantastic. But I'm more worried about the reliability and depreciation.

That's touching it, dude. 🤣

Technically it is, by definition. Not to confuse the adverb in "manually shifting" versus the adjective in "manual transmission"
👍🏻🤘🏼

Famous last words from every car enthusiast ever, haha. I've said this about all my cars, and hell, I even put an intake on a TLX once, because I can't help myself. 🤣

LOL, I like how you changed your mind in the middle of your statement. hahahah.

You only need a tune to make 400+.

Since I didn’t see a budget from the OP, I’ll make two recommendations for fun weekend cars:

992 GT3
992 TTS

Pick one :)

The TTS is a better daily than the Supra as well. More comfortable, better visibility, better tech and amenities, faster, better handling, less attention (depending on spec), etc

My weekend fun car is my Shelby GT350R. Ticks every box as a drivers car.
My Supra may be quicker but it’s not as fun or as confidence inspiring as the Shelby. The 8k+ redline, magnetic ride control, and bespoke tremec is absolutely amazing. Hands down the most fun drivers car I’ve ever owned. The cooling and breaks never ever give up. You can hammer on it all day.
