afaik, map switching is when you use your steering wheel to pick between separate discrete maps.

if you're taking about bm3 multi-map, it uses 2 maps (full gas or full ethanol) and interpolates ALL lookup tables on-the-fly. note that the "full ethanol" threshold is user-defined and doesnt necessarily need to be at 100% E. Multimap then takes up one slot on your steering wheel map switch.

Quick example that @razorlab wrote up:

disclaimer: i don't have bm3, this is all regurgitation.

One slight bit of clarification. With multimap and flex fuel, you can still have four different maps you switch between and you can set them to also interpolate to your flex fuel map as well. All four or just ones you select to have that capability.

Which is super awesome for flexibility. I use it like that to have different power maps for track use.

If you just want super simple, you setup one map slot for your pump gas tune and use the flex fuel to interpolate based off that.

Adjusts fueling, ignition timing, load and torque target, the last two change the boost indirectly.
That's.. wtf that's super cool. So you don't have to worry about going 93 to E30 or 50?

So how does it work when you have custom tunes for set fuel grades?

If it's tuned correctly, nope.

If they are in the map slots, you switch maps via the steering wheel toggle or the app.

Just got my ultra flow r and BM3 flex fuel kit in today after a bit of black friday shoping and ECU should be arriving today as well. Probably going with Sameh for tuning see how that goes.
Congrats!

Well there is this sheet

Many people on that sheet are in that .01%, constantly trying to make small modifications to improve times in similar conditions

I’m a little confused how an EcuTek tuned stock turbo car is laying down quicker times the a Pure 850 jb4 car?

I wanted to give you an update on my 2021 with the DAW Ultra Flow R turbo. I was running E67 blend of ethanol yesterday on the dyno. Two runs in fifth gear, and the car running a little bit before strapped down on the dyno. Overall the tuner met my goal, while keeping my tranny happy.

You make your own conclusion on what setup you want to go with. ;)

If you have any questions, post up....

@2021Supra Are you running port injection? Did your tuner say if you had more torque available. Really nice numbers btw. That’s a solid 600 wheel on 93. Nice job.

Yes sir, I am running port injection with Reflex.

ID 1050CC Injectors.

I sent him an email shortly after, thanking him for meeting my goals. He requested a photo of the graph. No response yet. I had the same question. The car feels really spicy and pulls pretty hard. If he feels that he could increase the torque, I told him to send a revision file over. He has been a pleasure to work with.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I appreciate it.

So 600 isn’t a safe number? Asking for a friend lol
600 is typically where you'll start to see some slip.

Imo for these street cars its best to talk to your tuner and set up multiple maps.

1 Map - Daily driving the OP Dyno would be perfect. You can hammer down and not have to worry about much.

2nd Map race map something pretty aggressive likely around 600-650 wtq. This will definitely cause issues to trans but if you don't make that 5th-6th shift it can live for a bit (not forever lol).

3rd Map full tilt. Everything we got.
