F-Type is lighter than a M3. 700lbs lighter than this poser LC500.

F-Type is 1.00g. LC500 is a laughable .88g

F-Type is a real sports car.
It did feel heavy for a sportscar. And if you look at its Lightning lap time, it falls short of the Supra's by 2 seconds and 15 places on the rankings table.

It's more of a GT car than a racer in my opinion, but compare your Supra to one and let us know which one you prefer.

Supra is a Sports GT as well when stock.

LC500 is also 5 secs slower than the newer F-Type at Lightning lap.

Supra is a Sports GT as well when stock.
All Lightning lap vehicles are bone stock, although some manufacturers offer track tires as an option or within an option package. They can make a significant difference.

I was comparing them stock because that is what you where. Supra is a GT, F-Type is a GT, LC500 is a GP (Grandpa).

You then stated to compare my supra to one and my supra is not stock.

Please keep the goal posts in the same place.

Did you compare their prices? (Fastest LC vs fastest F-Type) Obviously, the Supra is the better bang for the buck in stock form on VIR.

Grand Touring cars are typically very quiet on the highway, say, 65 db or so. The noise levels of both the LC and F-Type were similar on the highway at 75 mph.

what makes a car a GT car? what makes a car a track car? there are no real definitions.

i suppose if the car comes factory with pilot cup tires, then it's more of a 'track car'.

these are all street cars.

There are no real definitions, but it's pretty safe to say that >3500lbs cars from a luxury brand with a big motor are touring cars. They're built for comfort, filled with rubber and sound deadening. It's very clearly not equipped for track use.

Toyota has always stated the Supra is a GT car at it's core.

The Mercedes GT is also a GT (who would have thought?) and it is also track capable.

A 911 is also considered a GT car.

And just for you @concept , so is a Corvette.

someone paying 55k+, such as a supra, is gonna expect some level of creature comfort. so those are typically going to be 'gt' cars.

also some cars are designed to ride too stiff to give the feeling of a 'track car'. see the new civic type r.
