BMW M2 and Honda S2000 - both 6MT
If i'm correct manufacture rated figure for your M2 is what 4.2secs. and you did it in less than that. A 2007 lexus IS350 is rated for 5.5secs and you have people doing it in 4.9secs. I hope you get the point.

i'm still not sure of the the actual 0 to 60 I've heard 4.3 and also 4.1
Still not sure about the weight also.
Yes, I get the point.

I had a 2006 IS350, what a great car and engine for 2006! I wish the supra surprised us like that car did.

Toyota magic? M2 is heavy, with body roll?

My M2 (not M2c) is less than 100 lbs heavier than this Supra, it has 51/49 weight distribution, and virtually no body roll. M2c is 50-100 lbs heavier but the reviews are all positive with handling etc.

As far as Toyota magic, maybe they tweeked the BMW engine but my 'heavy' 365 hp M2 can hit 0-60 in under 4 seconds, the auto/dct cars can do it more consistently.

I'm sure these will perform well and they should be easily/cheaply modable to 400+ hp, but I wont be jumping to buy one anytime soon.
How is 1600+ kg NOT heavy in what wants to be relatively small, nibmle sports car? 6cyl in a Supra is OVER 100KG LESS than M2C.
It doesn't roll? Ofc it does (I'm not saying MX5 like, but its certainly there), which is obvious when u change directions fast, you can also feel the mass while braking, its really there. So You want to tell me M2 is flat at cornering just as 718 is? I don't want to go back to steering as I hope its not carried over, since its like 2 leagues below Cayman/GT86. I drove it for some time, I red about it good things and for me it just didnt deliver sports car experience I want (maybe I'm spoiled after spending some time with 718s, 458, 911 etc). It's a good car, really nice for a daily, but I seek more than that, thats it :) So personally I wouldnt even consider M2/new A45s. Also this will be faster on any track than M2C, I bet 5$ :D Let's not thread jack here tho :D

Overpromise and underdeliver?

I just don't get it... one of the few tasks Toyota had in this project was apparently the engine calibration for the Supras B58. Why on earth would they detune the engine from 382 to 335hp for the Supra, why not at least keep Z4 power levels?

A few of my own explanations:
- They took older BMW calibrations and were just too lazy to change it
- Toyota deemed this engine too unreliable at more than 335hp
- They kept power output down to lower insurance/tax rates for the Corolla/BRZ boys

I see you are in Europe. The Z4 M40i you get will have exact same output, 335hp.

Apparently Japan trims leaked. Saw the lowest trim available.

Trim: SZ

Inline 4 Twin Scroll Turbo, 197PS at 4500-6500RPM, 320NM at 1450-4200RPM

0-100 in 6.5s

Weight of 1410kg.

Standard Tires are 225/50R17 front, 255/45R17 rear.

Dear god, 3100 lbs. Akio wasn't kidding about swapping

Wow, that interior is identical to all of my BMWs. They didn't change a single thing, except the steering wheel. They didn't even bother to change the UI on the infotainment system. Pretty disappointed there.

Also, funny fact for numbers folks, the base model 4 cyl Supra is rated at 194 HP. The lowest possible tier of Camry you can buy (l trim) is rated 9 HP higher. Obviously the supra will drive leaps and bounds better, but is just hilarious. I wish they would just sell a rolling chassis if they're just swap-mobiles.

So there will be even lower power trim? Less 200 in a Supra sounds.... eh?
Also, I dont see where does GT86 fit into this ? 200hp Supra would be just bit faster than 86 costing prob more. Also they are working already on new 86 for around 2022, that will likely have over 200+, maybe from 2.5 Subaru engine. What's the point?

The car looks great, but I can't get very excited with the GRMN in mind, I was hoping this one ends up with the same short block as the GRMN, but I guess that's out the window. If there wasn't going to be a German one I would've like it better, now, not as much. Getting this would always make you feel lacking, shame really. And I was running all over youtube telling people that their wrong and this car will sell like hot cake and soon will be pushing 1000whp, maybe I'm the one that was wrong? I mean tunability was a goal and yet you need to swap the head? Would that count as a bolt on? Kind of killed my excitement for the car.

Any info on what interiors will be available on non-Launch vehicles? Ie will the all red interior be available on regular cars or only the Launch cars?
There is a red interior but it is only red on the drivers side, and has black seats. I'm not sure if it will be an option or based on trim, or maybe a Japan-only option.
