So I posted a thread not too long ago of some logs I did while running map 5 and it wasn’t pretty, I was informed to try out map 4, here are those logs. I’m concerned with the afr’s @ColonelAdama @Jesse DaBears

I know it’s been super helpful uploading these to datazap.me (it’s free) so we can run through the runs and get specific values at each point and actually “play” the run and pick out parameter to look at, if you need some help holla I can walk you through it and where the files are on your phone so you can upload them.

Hard to see the actual values of AFR from the screen shots but it does seem to be hangin up there 15 on the 2nd run but a little under on the 1st graph (hard to tell) and even above for a good bit and there is a big throttle closure there (traction maybe?). Trims look better than map 5 so that’s good right!

Here is the data zap for the log, once you’re in it go to the first pull on the log that is the pull I used for the first picture. I’m still new to logging so I apologize for the mess lol

Looks like the trims are maxing out again as you start to climb in the rev range they start climbing and then it can’t adjust any more fuel and then you see throttle closures quite a bit it seems, It’s pulling some timing as well At one point mid run it was 10.5 and it dropped all the way to 5/6*. It should climb steady upward toward redline (Sometimes it does).

There was one run (3rd or 4th) you went into 5th gear and AFR got up over 17. But for most of the runs in 4th the AFR’s stayed high 14’s until the throttle closure then it gets all wonky just looks like it doesn’t have the fueling it needs.

What gas are you running on, E30 right? When you mixed it how much E and 93 (0r 91) did you put? ColonelAdama mentioned on mine where I start maxing trims and then it’s starts cutting back either to much boost or to much e content.

if you set your layout in data zap you can highlight each full throttle run and it’ll zoom in FYI and then you turn the play speed down and add some data channels on the left and you can take apart each full throttle run Or just run your mouse over the run and watch the values.

See the attached graphs lots of throttle closures and after 5000 the trims go over 40 and climb to max 49 in almost every run as you get past 5k they just climb and then max out then throttle Closures, AFR jumps around, timing drops.

better screen shot as you get over 5500 the trims basically max out until you shift and then next gear same thing above 5500 they max out and the throttle closing causes these little boost spikes in a few places. First one shows what I mean

Ideally your get the boost riding right with the target line. I find these cars in the 4k range it’s like they it’s trying to figure shit out and then 5k on it’s like “ok i got it now”

In this one too you can see the turquoise line is your foot and the brown’ish is the throttle it only briefly goes to 100 and drops (traction maybe?) and slowly comes back but never more than like 80%

IMG_2029.png

This was a run in 4th I did today look at the boost line and target line your shooting for that or the boost to be just a tick under the target with an untuned car, at least on mine that’s what I saw until I got it tuned. (Last chart was mine from today). I’m still trying to tune out that 4k trim spike where mine briefly maxes out for like 500rpm or so. I’m gonna drop the boost in that area about .5psi and see if I can’t chill that out a little.

I’m sure the big guns will chime in as well with the good stuff LOL

Hopefully the custom tune by Jesse will fix these problems. If not it’s time to test injectors, and spark plugs, maybe it’s having a misfire? They should be fine though, car only has 23k on it. I’m hoping it’s just the tune

Custom tune for sure. I don’t think it has a misfire just running out of fuel “range” it can do more stock just the DME stock tune is limited.

what ratio of ethanol to fuel did you use? I use this site https://www.morepowertuning.com/emix?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIt9SX59ubgAMVmZtaBR2l-AdIEAAYASAAEgJYrPD_BwE

helps me get it right. There is a menu in the special diag menu that tells you how many liters are in the tank or I just do current range / current mpg tells me how much I have to empty (gallons) then just do 13.7 - Gal left and that’s you’re fill up number you need to get the ratio for. I find that method to be within a gallon

Just looks like too much E. I think these winter E85 blends are higher ethanol. because I've seen a lot of people struggle to run E30 recently.

Please dilute with gas and post another log, but this time from 2500 to redline in 3rd or 4th gear.

It's probably better to target E15-E20 for now. <2 gal

I tested the e85 pump and it is testing at e75 so I did 4.1 gallons of e and around 9.6 gallons of 93 so it should be almost a perfect e30. But I’ll still dilute it some and see how the logs look then. Should I still use map 4? Also will running it how it is now cause damage to anything? I’m getting the custom tune done in March and I just really hope this doesn’t destroy the car lol

In the top of the custom settings which ones apply to all maps? The Duty Bias?

I did about e35 with 91 octane on map4. I should post some logs just to get some feedback but it felt really good. Pushed you into the seat after hooking in 3 gears easily which it didn't do before. Gonna get a proper tune after getting the daw cartridge installed though.

Don't run the JB4 at all if your logs are just showing maxed out trims. Every car is different too, some are fine with a bit more ethanol - can't explain it.

Your stock map, map 0 will handle that amount of ethanol fine

I always recommend 2 gal to start and usually work up to 3 if logs allow.

I’ll dilute it down to e20 and check the logs and if that doesn’t fix it I’ll just go back on straight pump gas because my trims before that looked way better. At least in the mean time until I can get a custom e30 tune from Jesse or will the custom tune do nothing to help me in my case?

just lower your e content to like <20 and you can still make plenty of power.

Will do, I wish I could get the mhd back end flash but I heard I still need to unlock my ecu for that which kinda sucks
