Pros:
-Love the exterior
-Audio system looks like it might be nice (two subs behind seats!)
-Like the digital gauge cluster

Cons:
-Wish it had more power
-Wish the interior was more driver focused like the MKIV, and I don't like the BMW shifter
-Dealer markups/wait time

Pros:
- It exists, looks good and has a solid mechanical base for a serious performance car

Cons:
- Weight. That is the only real let down for me. Power is cheap, lightness is expensive and complex.

If I place an order it will be my dd

Pros:

  • Exterior - apart from the door mould add-on and the alloys haven't won me over yet. I think they have nailed it overall though, this is what is keeping me interested tbh
  • Boot space - bigger than expected even if the opening is narrow
  • Tech - I expected it to be very basic tech wise to keep it lighter so I am surprised how much they have thrown in/made available. No android auto though o_O
  • Dynamic/Adjustable Suspension: Current car has this and I fear without it the Supra would just be too firm for the shocking UK roads
  • Twin exhausts - Prefer it to a single/centre exit and they look to have a nice bit of girth for a production car

Cons:
  • Fake vents - really embarrassing
  • Paddle shifts - not fixed to the column is missing a trick for me. My current car has a ZF8 with large column mounted paddles and it really doesn't take anything away (well maybe a little) imo by not being manual. As autos go, it is a very good one
  • Interior - that steering wheel :( and I am not a fan of the BMW parts bin (never have been), even more so that it is the older system. The new Z4/G20 is much nicer than the traditional BMW look and with the price being asked it really should be the newer BMW system. I suppose it is nicer than the current Toyota interior theme though. Could they of gone down the Lexus route???
  • HP - not as high as I expected, I thought it would be nearer 400 OR the car be lighter than it is. 4.2 secs is fast enough though and the torque figures mean it should be useable
  • Price - should be 5k lower even if they took some of the spec/tech out and let you add on what you wish at the usual Toyota reasonable option prices. I am not sure what the sales forecast/plan is but I don't see them flying off the forecourts here. I think a lot of people in the UK are badge snobs and it is only a Toyota after all. The Z4 M40i is cheaper here and the badge means more than the drive etc to the majority of buyers

Pros:

1. BMW infotainment system. The best in the business!

2. BMW+ZF drivetrain.

3. Sports car that (I think) can fit a set of golf clubs in.

4. Reasonably priced. I donā€™t want to buy an $80k-plus car!

Cons:

1. Exterior styling. The busy aesthetic combined with fake details makes the style akin to a cheap hooker.

2. Toyota dealerships and ordering process. Iā€™m spoiled by the BMW dealer and ordering experience.

3. Color selection. How about a normal/glossy gray?

4. Limited production.

PROS:

Exterior Styling:
It's like when a beautiful woman walks into a bar in a little black dress, either you like what you see or you don't. Well the Supra walked in, and I slid out the stool next to me.
Chassis: Rigid chassis, perfect balance, good geometry, low CG... all items that are critical and can't be easily (or cheaply) fixed after the fact.
Physical Size: I like seeing the return of a smaller form factor. Seeing your way into a tight corner is always a good thing. I'm tired of cars that make you feel like you're in a pillbox bunker.

CONS:

Troll Magnet:
'nuff said.
No MT: Yet.
BMW Colors: Would have loved to see some Supra specific paint colors available.

in no particular order:
Pros:
1. Looks
2. fast (enough for me)
3. reasonably priced
4. Base model is still nicely equipped

Cons:
1. No manual. - this was the biggest let down by far
2. paddles should have been attached to the column
3. Interior is a bit meh
4. fake vets. sooo disappointing. should have been functional or just left off

PRO:

  1. Suspension and chassis engineering. It's a great starting point.
  2. Drivetrain has lots of aftermarket potential
  3. Exterior styling (mostly)
  4. Sounds good
  5. Looks to have a great drag coefficient.
  6. Power is underrated or de-tuned
  7. Is not a ford, chevy, or Subaru product.
Con:
  1. Heavy! No matter how many times they say it, it's not lightweight. 3300lbs is almost a boat for RWD.
  2. No True base model
  3. No Manual option!
  4. Fake vents....
  5. 19" wheels.. (have to buy 18"s)
  6. Front bumper...just looks terrible.

3300 is not bad. Most RWD cars today weigh atleast 200-600lbs more.

I agree it could be much worse, I would be very happy at 2950ish. But I am satisfied that kt was attempted to get some weight off by making some components into alum.

For reference my 86 is 2634lbs, muffler swap and 18.5lb wheels. 1/8fuel gained weight on suspension vs OEM.

Pros;

- A brand new sports car being introduced into the market. A lot of people are bitching about the styling, the hp, the interior, the BMW shared parts bin...but no one is seeing the bigger picture here. Look at almost every other manufacturer out there and what they wanna bring out in the future...autonomous electric crossovers. That is what every mainstream car manufacturer is rushing out to produce. Even Toyota. They could've been content with selling RAV4's, Camry's, Corolla's, and Prius's to everyone and did not have to make this. They already make more than enough money from selling those appliance like cars and more so when they go autonomous electric cars. They are going to lose money on the Supra but they still decided to bring a brand new "affordable" sports car to the market. I mean think about it...Japanese manufacturers aren't really doing that any more. All we have are cars like the BRZ/GT86, Miata, Z and now the Supra. The GTR has gotten more expensive over the years (I remember when they were available for $70k at launch) and the new NSX is a failure and it's high asking price is one of those reasons. Look at what Mitsubishi did with the Eclipse. They turned it into a damn crossover. Toyota could have easily done that but didn't because they made a sports car for enthusiasts. The sports car market is dying and here we are with a brand new one and mostly everyone is bitching about it...

- Exterior styling. One of the few cars to come out that stuck pretty close to the concept version, The rear end and rear quarter view of the car look awesome.

- BMW tune-ability. Get a reflash on this thing and you will gain 100hp/150ft. lbs. just like that. Now will it make the insane numbers like a 2JZ did once fully built and tuned? I doubt it. But with a tune, intake, downpipe, exhaust you can easily be in the 500hp range. More if you upgrade the turbo. Many people are bitching that 330hp isn't "enough" probably have never driven a car with more than 300hp at it's full potential. My 350z has only "306hp" and I regularly pass people in GT3's and Ferrari's on the track. A lot of people are scared to get the maximum benefit out of their cars. In the hands of a capable driver, expect this Supra to embarrass a lot of more expensive cars around a track when stock, Modified with bolt ons, a tune, some coilovers from MCS, Moton, JRZ or KW, sway bars, wheels and tires and it will be a beast.

Cons;

- Automatic transmission. Enthusiasts need a 6 speed manual. Hopefully we will get one soon.

- Weight. The car weighs 3400lbs. That's really heavy for a car this size. It's smaller than a BRZ/GT86, has no back seats, has a shorter wheelbase and weighs 600lbs more than it. And a BRZ/GT86 has back seats! I just don't get where all the extra mass is coming from in the chassis. I don't think a BMW B58 and a ZF 8 speed trans weigh that much would they? Seems like BMW is just throwing in useless weight to claim that 50/50 weight distribution. Oh well. Hopefully we get some dry carbon body kits for it.

- Fake vents galore. Why even bother having them in the first place? Even if you could replace them to be functional most would be of no use. The vents in the door sills don't go anywhere or cool anything at the back of the car. Same with the hood vents...really hard to make those functional as there isn't an opening on the bottom of the sheet metal. Hopefully, the aftermarket gets to work on this thing and we get some proper functional body kits. Or we get one that cleans up the fake vents like on the hood and door sills and under the tail lights. Toyota is throwing fake vents on all of their cars so I get why they did it to have the car fit in their design language but I am not a fan,

- The gauge cluster. It sorta looks like an afterthought. You have a full BMW interior, why not go with a traditional BMW speedometer and tach? I don't know maybe I need to see it in person before judging but as of now I am not really feeling it.

That's my 2 cents.

Pros:

-Exterior styling (I like the proportions more than the FT-1)
-Price. I think itā€™s a fair price considering what you get
-no sunroof. No need to worry about leaking seals and clogged drains, no extra weight in the place you would least want it, and provides more headroom for tall drivers wearing helmets
-exhaust note. Some people hate it, but I like the popping sounds

Cons:

-no manual transmission (this is the only con that is a deal-breaker for me)
-Electronic parking brake. Just another thing that might break down. Also no way to do quick 180 turns or initiate slides using the handbrake (and since itā€™s auto only, no clutch kick too). Iā€™d rather have a simple lever
-Electric seats. Heavier than manual seats, and adds another thing that will eventually break down. Yes you could swap in a pair of Recaros, but you lose the side air bags if they are built into the stock seats
-Questionable BMW reliability (will it also have brittle plastics, cracking rubber seals, leaking gaskets, peeling rubberized coating on the interior, dead electronic modules?)
