This is correct. This imo would be ideal for jb4 guys as its very inexpensive and should work well. It's not meant for someone looking to make big power.
Yup! These worked well with the Evos for a great street turbo. I am sure FP has a full upgrade coming soon.

Are pure 800 difficult to make a custom map safely with JB4?

Not so much difficult but worthwhile I don't think it is.

Here's a few reasons why:

Quality
Cost
Quality
You aren't going to push much over 25 psi with jb4 and meth and a pure800 (550whp)
Quality

And lastly Quality.....

I have my doubts about a cheap journal bearing turbo that barely flows more than stock, even for the JB4 crowd. Seems like an unpleasant experience.

I have a car with a similar upgrade. The people I'm on track with can confirm it's a great option. It upsets them quite a bit. ?
Tubing with JB4 is a bonus for those that are a bit more casual with their build .
I'll take the FP so I can have the same whp but less boost.

What are some of the common quality issues that go along with a Pure 800/850. And is there anything proactive someone can do to minimize those issues if they get one. Seems there is not a lot of high quality options out there on the market for stock placement turbos.

Unfortunately nothing to prevent issues. Bad clearances/tolerances, etc. They also blow the center cartridge often and spew oil everywhere.

Do you expect the upcoming Cast pure800 to be an improvement in quality?

That kit that I posted is on my car. It's Evolution of Speed. Happens to be the kit Payn has on his personal car and the kit that holds the stock block world record (8.87 @ 154). As far as I know, it's the only high-quality bottom-mount kit "available" right now. They're still custom-made, pricy, and take some time.
Any info on subsequent development on this?

What is your definition of big power?

Just picked up a MT 2024 was planning to do a boost logic catless dp and armspeed intake... but i hear JB4 has a hard time eliminating engine codes on catless..

Anything more than 550-600 jb4 really is no longer effective. While you can make even more than that on a jb4 with full ethanol its not great for reliability.
