Has anyone driven the LC500? After hearing so many raving reviews about the car I decided to go for a test drive.

I have to say, I wasn’t really impressed by the driving dynamics. I drove the coupe but I could still feel the chassis flexing. The engine sounded nice but the power delivery wasn’t that exciting. It handled like a yacht.

The interior looks nice, but the driving dynamics definitely put me off. Every once in a while I get the itch to try a different car but then I realize how great the Supra is, unless I drive a Cayman.

Does anyone else relate?

I haven't driven the LC500, but it sounds like how I felt driving the Mustang GT. It sounded good with that v8, but throttle response felt sluggish, and it felt like driving a boat. In comparison, the Supra feels much more light and quick. As much as I love the idea of a nice v8 engine, some of these new v8s are just too big and heavy...

I own both, and love both cars. The LC 500 is a sports tourer, and as expensive as it is, it feels undervalued. I found a 2018 model 18 months ago for 75 K with 1300 miles on its and bought a 24 MT premium a few months ago. A great sports car, and also a great value in my opinion. Both great engineering feats, but not comparable cars. david

I've had both, an LC500 Black Inspiration and the manual Supra.
They are totally different cars, the LC500 is a great GT for long road trips - however whilst it's quick the reality is that it would struggle to keep up with a Golf-R. The LC500 never failed to feel anything other than brilliant though, a well thought out car that makes you feel special even at walking pace.

The Supra is much more sport orientated, faster in almost every way, but nothing like as well put together.

Doesn't surprise me, they hyped the SC430 as a competitor to the 911 when it was released. We all know what a boat it turned out to be.

I rented a 2018 LC500. Lexus softened the suspension in 2019 after many complaints about the harsh ride. I thought it was tolerable, but my other cars were a bit stiff, also.

I could easily tell that the LC weighs almost 1800 lbs more than my Miata, but the LC is such a great grand touring car. Its interior is second to none, the road noise isolation is great, and its 0-60 in 4.4 seconds is okay for this category of car.
And although I was considering a used one or its hybrid brother (for its excellent fuel mileage), after I drove a Supra 3.0, I knew a faster, smaller, lighter car would suit me far better.
Both are very rare, but the Supra attracts more attention by the younger crowd. Older folks love the LC but they tend to not be real sportscar enthusiasts. Below is the LC I rented.

The two cars are EXTREMELY different. Absolutely loved my LC500......it wasnt fast but one of the most satisfying cars i've owned. Always felt so well composed and the interior is an absolute work of art and a really nice place to be(comfortable seats and great sound system). Infotainment isnt bad at all after using it a couple days, though youtubers love to gripe about it. The styling will have you admiring it every time you walk up to it
