On a side note, is the wiring to the BDC for this to work documented anywhere? Haven't been able to find it and was thinking about just pulling the signal from the headlights.

Just to make sure I'm understanding this properly, it is possible to just swap the to the EU tails and code them to work properly? So the signal section would stay off at all times and they would only light up when the signal is actually being used?
I didn't do the swap myself, only the coding.
The work was done on a US Supra imported to Europe. The taillights were installed and the missing wire was ran to the taillight connector.

I wasn't able to find anything online but was told it should be the same as Z4. I was going to compare EU to US wiring but I couldn't find an EU VIN to view a wiring diagram.

That should at least let me search for things a bit more but with the Supra being my first BMW I'm not sure it's much of a difference ?. I'll be doing the 4th brake/fog light from EU in the mean time in hopes this swap gets a bit more documentation. Don't want to drop the tail light money yet if I can get other parts installed faster.

There's a guy on IG (forgot his name and handle) who does the clear and smoked lens swaps. I asked him about the ROW (rest of world) tail lights with the center amber turn signals on a US car and he said the OEM US wiring won't allow for it to work properly unless you do a lot of wiring and coding modifications. :dunno:

Also, regarding the 4th brake light - why not just go with the OLM version? It's basically plug-n-play.

I think that I've seen his IG as well but also most folks aren't interested in working with any body control units. I don't mind it as long as I know what I have to do since I'm no expert with wiring diagrams.

I'm not a fan of how the OLM version looks and you still need to tap wires with those since sadly nobody has come out with a true plug and play harness.
