Pilot bearing? The bearing in the end of the crank that supports the front of the input shaft? How would you distinguish any sound due to wear or failure between it and the clutch throwout/release bearing? Clutch shudder is the usual indication of a bad/failed pilot bearing.I don’t think it would damage the clutch beyond repair, those dual disk clutches are designed to be abused.
just out of curiosity, does your clutch pilot bearing make a lot of noise at idle in neutral?
