Does anyone know if the Toyota/supra connect app can lock the ecu by sending updates? Or is it only done by over the air updates and at the dealer ship?
You have to look for a drone flying around over NJ or many other states. They will likely be sending many cool new features to our cars and other devices in the weeks to come ?

Downloaded this app Friday night and have been messing with it over the weekend. Overall, it's a dope app definitely recommends it to the android users.

I mostly use the app for the music features and i have to say i love being able to see and pick the next song in the playlist rather than just hitting the Next button on the HUD and skipping songs until i find one i want to listen to.

However, I do have a couple of gripes... It definitely feels like it slowed down the head unit a bit when using the features. A couple of times i've played music there has been delays of up to 5 seconds when changing to the next song. This was fixed by just pausing the song and letting the delay catch up and then unpausing the song and it was no longer delayed maybe it was connection issues. And the other gripe being having to open the app and let it connect to the car each time before being able to select the "spotify" app on the media player (still new to the app so maybe user error and maybe theres an easier way to have the app auto connect to the car once it starts)

There are apps/programs you can use to have rotuines to automatically open the app when your Bluetooth connects to the car.

Mind dropping some examples or DMing them! Would clear up my biggest gripe.

The app is meant to launch and connect to the car as soon as the Bluetooth connection is detected, but you need to manually grant permission to detect the Bluetooth connection.
If that doesn't work, then your phone might be limiting background execution in some way. This would also impact AAIdrive's ability to launch and control Spotify from the background too. Background execution limits would definitely cause the UI to lag because the phone isn't letting the Supra app run continuously in the background to transfer the data to/from the car or for AAIdrive to receive the data from the car and react.

Nice to know will give that a try. How do you use google maps (know it was mentioned to be laggy)?

Appreciate the advice! I looked into the app permissions, and confirmed it had the Bluetooth connection permitted, and it still didn't work. Looked into my phones background limits too and couldn't find anything there as well. Honestly the delay is tolerable and not usually an issue its more so the app not auto connecting when the phone connects to the car via Bluetooth. Having to open the app (even when the app is running in the background) is a chore but if others aren't experiencing this issue that's great. Amazing app overall.

The only way to use Google Maps is to install the Screen Mirroring addon. This addon requires that the screen stays on, and there is no way to receive touch inputs from the car and control an app, so I don't find it very useful.

Oh, this is a good question
I realized no one ever answered you guys - No Over the Air updates for the Supra.

I also can't figure out a way to get the app to launch automatically for me. Not sure what I need to change.

Heya, lead developer of AAIdrive here! I signed up here because I'm so excited to share the news, and then you spoiled the surprise! <3
That's right, AAIdrive now fully supports Toyota Supra (after coding the Supra to have ENTWICKLER_MENUE aktiv)! I just merged it to main this morning, along with some text updates to give instructions in the app, and the latest build is ready for you to try out! After further testing, I'll push it out to the Play Store :)
There's pictures for proof on the Github discussion.
It's definitely not a full Android Auto replacement, but I love that the features are more natively integrated into IDrive.
What a great app @hufman ! I had to hunt around a little in Bimmercode to find ENTWICKLER_MENUE but once I set it to aktiv it seems to be working perfectly for texts and calendar. Kudos!

I also seemed to be having trouble getting it to launch so I set it up in Tasker to launch as soon as the car connects to BT.

Well how annoying. Supra Connect updated and now it will not open on my phone with an error saying app access is restricted because the phone is rooted. Which it is not. As an experiment I fired up my old phone and started the app, it was fine. Then I went to google play and sure enough there was a Supra Connect update. I installed it and now it gets the same error. Anyway the net is that no Supra Connect means AAIdrive won't connect. Supra Connect support only lists weekday hours so I guess I will try calling on Monday. FYI @hufman

I was having issues with my new phone recently, this might explain it.
