Supra engine overheating

I have a 2020 Supra 3.0 Premium with dp, tune, intake, charge pipe. When I started my car today there was a cel and these are the codes. (The ones in red are normal) After a little bit of driving it says “Cont Driving Possible: engine temp, drivetrain” then after 2-3 minutes it says “engine overheated” what should I do? Do I bring it to a dealership?

Yep, if the coolant is low, you'll be shooting air bubbles through the system, and they could be super hot. If filling is needed be sure to use the right stuff and that it's mixed correctly as well (usually 50:50 with DI or RO water, i.e. from a grocery store, if it's not already pre-mixed).

You might look into the bleeding procedure posted around here and ensure the pump is flowing, as well as to burp the system if you do add more to it.

If the high temp circuit is low you should get a level warning though.

Curious to know what your coolant temps were too.

Since the CEL came on immediately on start up, would lead me to believe there could be rodent damage to wiring. The coolant control valve and coolant temp sensor are both located under your intake manifold and is a great place for rodents to seek shelter. Also with driving for a bit then getting a caution for overheating would make sense especially if there's damage to the coolant valve wiring.

Take your engine cover off then try to shine a flashlight under the rearward area of the intake just below where you see your oil filter housing and check for any signs of debris (nesting debris, droppings or even remnants of wiring). Even better if your have an inspection camera you can get a better look by fishing it under.

Also freeze frame data or current data could be helpful. If you can see what temp it's reading, such as open circuit would be somewhere around -40° then you know it's probably open circuit from rodent damage, at least for temp sensor. Doesnt rule out the coolant valve.

What was your coolant temps?

Up to 245F

I just checked check coolant levels and filled them, drove for 10 minutes. Coolant and oil temps still getting hot.

I just did the bleed process and after idling for about 10-15 minutes the Coolant temps are 120°C and oil temp 114°C

Coolant target is 95c at operating temp and 107c at warm up. Control (when the alarm bells sound) is 130c. So you are close at 120c.

Did you do the correct bleeding sequence for the high temp circuit? High temp circuit is with the engine running and low temp circuit is without the engine running.

Brought it to the dealership. They said an animal chewed through coolant tank wires and others. Costed $6000 (covered by insurance). Took about a week now she runs like normal.
