I’ve always changed my oil in the Spring, right when I take my supra out of winter storage. However, I want start changing the oil right before storage.

As I’m about to start driving my car soon for the first time since storing it, given that I changed the oil last spring, do you think I can *wait* to change the oil until I store it again later this year? Or should I go ahead and change it asap?

As long as you're doing it at proper intervals as far as mileage and at least once a year is what I'd recommend

edit: I also agree with the post below. Honestly don't usually think to much about that being as I don't get a whole lot of opportunities to track my car or I'd do it a little more frequently. My answer was solely based off typical driving with occasionally getting on it

4 factors influence the intervals at which I change oil.

1. Lower viscosity > higher oil change frequency.
2. Harder driving > higher oil change frequency.
3. Higher percentage ethanol usage > higher oil change frequency.
4. If you can't avoid alot of short trips that don't let the engine get up to temperature > Higher oil change frequency.

In my case I never go more than 3k miles between changes.

I only change once a year in the Spring. The car only gets driven 1000+ miles a year so even in the Fall before hibernation, the oil is still pretty fresh. I don't worry about corrosion or anything like that.

Hell, I even skip changing the filter to every other year (on my other hobby cars as well).

Usually during daylight savings time is best to change your oil.
But i like to change it on leap day
1) less often between changes
2) requires way less viscosity

I just can't even anymore with these oil threads.

This is a great opportunity to leverage AI. If someone tries to start a new thread with the word oil in it. RIGHT TO JAIL.

So what you're saying is I deserve to go to jail if I want to ask all 2 users of the off-topic section "What olive oil do you guys like to use with your italian cuisine"?
